I live in arkansas and i have 5 pdls. i am due to pay my fee to pdl assistance in one week. they advised me as they did others to close my bank account. i dont want to sound repetitive, but i am scared. i have read that the only time they ( the pdl companys) can take legal action, is if a check is returned on a closed account. is this true? my loans are internet. i am a single mom and i am just keeping my head above water. my loans are with: BIG, ameriloan, a2bcash, pdl loan center, and oneclickcash. i borrowed 200 and have paid bak infull BIG, 200 ameriloan and have paid back, 200 from a2bcash and have paid it back, 250 from the loan center have paid back, and 300 from oneclickcash and i hav about 90 left to pay them back. i need help on what to do.

I also have 5 loans out there totalling over $2200 and am a single mom. Should I close my current checking account since they are all internet loans and open a new one? I guess I would just have my direct deposit sent to my savings and then I could transfer MY money to the new checking to pay my bills. I would then talk to each company and pay through money orders or cashiers check. Am I going about this the right way?

I am barely qualified to give any advice here. Just signed up with PDL assistance--its worth the money to me, not to have to deal with all of this. I owe almost 4000. The first advice I was given was to close the bank account asap. Most of the weight was lifted immediately when I did that. I'm not worried because there are no checks. But they do call me at work, and this is a problem. Sorry I can't offer advise on how to do this yourself-but it does appear others in this forum can. Good luck--I hope everything turns out ok.

I recently joined the PDL assistance company. I closed my checking account and the phone calls from the payday loan companies are even worse!! I paid my start-up fee and was wondering how long it took the settlement company to start negotiating with the payday loan people, cause these phone calls are stressing me out....just curious if anyone had good success with this settlement stuff.... thanks

Hi All, I could really use your help I live in Arizona and i have been paying on my payday loans for well over a year now and have not been able to get anywhere.. i have two loans that are thru the internet. one of them they deduct a certain amount every time to lower the fee though it takes about 8 to 9 months to pay it off. I have 4 loans that are thru store fronts and have not been able to get any off them down. I have a total of 6 loans that total about 3000 dollars. any help you can give would greatly be appreciated. I struggle every month just to pay the bills and my house payment while i hand over about a 1000.00 a month to the PDL's.

I just spoke to them today, they seem pretty reliable not to mention professional too. The woman to helped me said they have only been in business since April of this year, but have had great success. That may be why somepeople cannot find a whole lot of info. Honestly, I am willing to try at this point, if the company does not end up being legit, then I will dispute my $200 set up fee and get refunded. I will keep you posted!!

Why not ask the 17 people that filed BBB complaints against them since April of this year if they are legit?

I live in Alabama. I have one storefront loan at Advance America for $470. Having trouble paying if off because I have 2 nonpayday loans for $200 and it is hard to come up with cash for all three. If I stop payment on the check so that I can make payments on it can they send it to police for action?

Hi Bamababe,

Here are the law's for Alabama (just select your state),it appears that as long as you don't close your account, you would be OK:

I have about 10 PDL out. They are all internet and total a little over $2300 (remaining loan amounts + fees). I live in OR. I called PDL assistance last week and was signed up with them then. My enrollment fee is due to come out on 12/19/08. I listened to their advice and closed my account and opened a new account; with the same bank. I am a little nervous about all of the phone calls I know I will soon be receiving. I am just hoping that this company can help me.

PDL Assistance is good if you don't have more than 15 payday loans and also if they are not mostly storefront loans. The reason I say that is because any payday consolidation company you join will take mostly all of your payment for there fees and put and only but a couple dollars in your account for settlement. With payday consolidation, they consolidation company puts your money in a trust account so that you can build up money to have to settle the payday loans. So the higher your payday loan debt is then the more money you will have to payday the consolidation company each month to pay off there service fees so they can began to start settling with the creditors. If you choose to have a lower payment then the longer it takes for you to pay your service charge and build up money to pay creditors and therefore the creditors continue to call. The lower monthly payment plan can take months before you see any of going in to you account. When you sign up for consolidation the creditors call do not stop because the consolidation company does not call them until they feel they have enough money build up to make a settlement offer.

PDL IS A RIP OFF... THEY HAVE A WHOLE 2 PPL IN THEIR NEGOTIATIONS DEPARTMENT.. AND IF YOU GET THE WRONG PERSON THEY WILL LET YOU GET SUED IF THEY DON'T GET WHAT THEY WANT WITH THE PAY DAY LOAN PLACE OR COLLECTION AGENCY... THEN WHEN I ASKED FOR A REFUND OF ALL MY FEES THAT THEY COLLECTED WHILE I WAS WITH THEM (MIND YOU THEY NEVER SETTLED ANYTHING THE WHOLE YEAR I WAS WITH THEM) THEY WOULDN'T REFUND ME FOR THEM... I GOT SUED & GARNISHED B/C OF THEM AND THEY STILL WOULDN'T REFUND MY MONEY!! BEWARE!! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM... WHAT I COULD HAVE BEEN PAYING TO SETTLE MY OWN DEBT I PAID TO THEM IN FEES. MOST TIMES ONCE THESE ACCTS GET IN TO collection agencies YOU CAN SETTLE THEM YOURSELF.. I SETTLED THE REST OF MY PAY DAY LOANS FOR 50% OF THE BAL... SOME 40% IT DEPENDS ON WHO THE LOAN CAME FROM IN THE 1ST PLACE....
