There's a new PDL scheme out there called SMSAdvance.com. The only reason I know of this is because I know the man who programmed it. He quit his job right before it went live, and he has a ton of insider information about it, including names, addresses, and so forth. Does anyone know a trustworthy source that could tell me if this thing is legal?

The very words you used "PDL Scheme " lead me to believe that of course it is not legal

I wouldn't trust a PDL as far as I could lift a building. I'm sorry...as far as legal?? It would depend on the state it is operating out of whether or not it is licensed, etc. And the state of the person taking out the loan. I don't care how great or legal it may be I still wouldn't do it. IMHO

It would only be legal if it was licensed in the states it was loaning in. The website in itself is not illegal. It looks like they use referral sites to get customers, you can't just go to their site and apply.

A payday loan (internet) legal? It would be more legal for me to walk into a bank, into the money vault, load it up, and while I am walking out the bank President calls me a cab. yeah, there ya go.

Sounds like it would be no more legal than other IPDL's--and most of them are operating outside of the law anyway!

Me personally, after being burned by ipdl's a few times I would not get into it at all. My brother in Florida uses them all the time, but not ipdl's just pdl's. I still don't trust it. He only does it basically to get his pay before the date and then goes to pay back the whole amount when he gets his check. I don't think they charge like the ipdl's though.

Your brother is very smart, but still I wished he would stay away from them all toghter. If he makes one mistake or misses one payment then the bottom can and will fall out.

That's how I feel about it. I get kind of worried about it, but just as long as he always goes back on payday he'll be alright. He said something about a $10 charge on top of what he borrowed is all he has to pay back. I know here they are illegal and I'm kind of glad of that.
