oh my gosh, has anyone dealt with spartan legal services? i have a payday loan with cash advance usa, and they are calling my boss, today, and told her that they are contacting police, what can i do about this? please i need some advice. i have tried to make payment arrangements, will not accept. he is threatening me!

even if they are legal, what they are doing is not. Did you follow reports with BBB, AG & FTC? If not, do so ASAP. If so, follow up ASAP. Did you send a C & D letter? If so, resend it.

no, i have not contacted anyone, i am freaking out that they are doing this, i just got another message here at work, it was literally a threat, he is sending info for a warrant at police dept, which he informed me is 5 miles from my home. he was horrible, what do i do? i have not contacted anyone, but i would say this is harrassment. i am in texas.

Do not let them intimidate you. What they are doing is not legal. Capitol Collections started harassing me and verbally insulting me threatening me with jail over a cash advance that is paid off and was part of an identity theft. They had the wrong address, wrong phone number and employer. Thank goodness they dont have my new information.

I have reported them to the Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission.

On my post, I mention Capital Collections. That's how it started with them trying to collect on a closed and paid off Cash Advance USA payday loan. They then threatened that they were send this to Spartan Legal Services. The only Spartan Legal services I could find is somewhere in Latvia!

Just wanted to clarify.

i have been through this same thing exactly with both of them, capital collections and spartan, they called my boss,and her brother is a police officer, they tried to contract them back, they are such liars, they cannot have a warrant on you, or put you in jail. they are just trying to scare you, report them to the attorney generals office, we tried to get their address, and they gave a box, so donot let them scare you. if they call my office again, they actually have broken the law, and now we are on to them finally. don't worry,they can do nothing

I had the same problem like a month ago with Capital Collections, they threatened about sending this to the police and they actually did. The police knocked on my door asking explanations about the bad check I wrote to Cash Advance. I had to pay them right away. Please be careful cause I suffered the consequences.

My story is a bit different, I was contacted by Capital Collections first, I always ignored there threattening messages, after a while I was contacted by some one from spartan legal services or something like that and did the same, after 2 months a recieved a court communication, I don't know how this guys found the way but they did sue me and now I am paying them a lot of money, I thought they were not able to file anything since payday loans are not legal, they hooked me up with the promissory note I signed so I guess the best idea will be not to neglect this, if somenone can give me some advice.
