You may contact with Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions in order to know the legality of the pdl companies. If they are not licensed, then you can get rid of this trap by paying back only the principal amount. Otherwise, you will be responsible for both the principal and interest. In that case, you may get help from a professional debt relief company.
