|
|
I got a payday loan from this company Geneva Roth. I got over extended with payday lenders. I went into Debt Management/consolidation. I ended up closing my bank account and opening another which cost me alot too. Today, they tried to debit my new account 400. I called them and asked them how they got my new account and that they were sent a letter by the debt consolidation group. They said they don't do debt management with anyone except the lender. They said that it was in my contract that they could debit any account. I told them they did not have access to my new account. They said they got this through the American Banking Association. I am filing a fraud charge with my bank tomorrow.

I have heard that if the new account is opened with the same bank, the lenders manage to get your new account info and try to do the debits. Definitely file a fraud charge with your bank and dispute the item. They must not charge you any NSF fees.

But when i tried to file a fraud charge with my bank they told me that I couldnt do it because it wasnt fraud. That I did owe the money to Geneva Roth.

that doesnt sound right to me either. How could anyone even a legit company get your new banking info, there must be something wrong in the bank system somewhere.
These companies are already illegal i guess, so what is stopping them from finding out any and all of our information, this is very very scary!!

I don't know who you bank with, but you call the customer service number back and explain to them that they were unauthorized to debit your account, they are an illegal company, and obtained your information illegally.
