Is there anything I can do with my bank so they stop rolling over these payments and increasing my number of NSF charges.

BARMAN!!! I need you to do something ASAP!!! Regarding Cash Transfer Centers. You need to type up a letter to them revoking any wage assignment you may have signed with them! It dawned on me last night. I'm sorry I'm stupid! They are big on putting through a "wage assignment" to your employer. A "wage assignment" is completely different than "wage garnishment". To garnish your wages, they would have to get a court order. They won't do this unless they come from their country to ours. LOL! Anyway, I'm being very serious here. A "wage assignment" is totally voluntary by your employer. However, some employers do not have a clue and think they have to take the money out of your paycheck and give it to these people. Not true. But, Cash Transfer Centers is known for turning in wage assignments. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE type up a letter, short and sweet, addressed to Cash Transfer Centers stating "I (your name) revoke any wage assignment that I may have signed with your company or any of your affiliates." Then just type your name. Do not sign your name (people can use it for forgery). Just type your name and social security number at the end. SEND it to Cash Transfer Centers via fax/email/mail. However you can get it to them. Do this ASAP!! You have to do this BEFORE Cash Transfer Centers has a chance to send it to your employer. It can not be revoked AFTER the fact. Please, barman, do this now!

I am just curious what can come out of a civil suit from any of these unlicensed companies. It is true that they can not do a criminal prosecution isn't it?

I have sent an email to customercare(at)cashtransfercenters.com saying exactly what you described. What is to stop them from doing this wage assignment anyway? The don't seem the most law abiding or moral abiding companies.

You should copy that email to your HR department at your work so they get a copy if these crooks try to do it anyway. CYA!

barman, thank you for sending that wage assignment revoke letter. I was having a heart attack! Just give your payroll department a copy of it. Just say "This illegal company somehow got my information and I'm having trouble with them. Could you place this in my file in case they try to do something stupid?" That's all you have to say. As long as they have a copy. It's none of their business. As far as these ILLEGAL pdl's are concerned, do not worry about criminal prosecution. Good Lord. They are so illegal it's totally insane. They actually have no legal recourse to collect the money. This is why they call you, hound you, threaten you. That's the only way they can get any money. They can't get it "legally". As far as Cash Transfer contacting you - tell them to only contact you via email or USPS. Hang up on them. They will argue your head off. They will demand more money. They will tell you to Money Gram or Western Union it. I had an illegal overseas pdl do it to me. Blah, blah. I unfortunately got caught on the phone with them. We argued regarding laws, blah, blah, on and on. They wanted me to Money Gram $100 that day to them by noon (or something goofy). Yeah, okay. Did I send the morons any money? Hell, no. What did they do? They called me and left a voice message asking where "their money" was. Then I received an email from them asking where "their money" was. Did I respond? No. I filed complaints with the BBB, the FTC, and my state AG. I never heard another word from the pdl. What are they going to do, barman? Are they going to jump on a ship and come to the US and hunt us down? To collect on an illegal loan? I'm still here. No one came and "got me". LOL! Do not send them that Money Gram. And tell them to only communicate with you via email or USPS. No telephone calls. They're bozo's. They'll keep calling anyway. Eventually, they'll let up. Keep us posted, and we're here. You'll be okay.

barman, I was just re-reading your post. Regarding the "wage assignment". A "wage assignment" is totally voluntary by your employer. They do not have to abide by it if they get one from Cash Transfer Centers. A "wage garnishment" would require a court order. Cash Transfer won't do that. They do a "wage assignment", with the knowledge that most people do not know that it is voluntary. Your employer do NOT have to honor it. So some poor souls get screwed by their own employer because the employer wasn't aware that this is voluntary. Now that you have sent the letter revoking the "wage assignment", you can give it to your payroll, they can have a copy, you can have a copy, Cash Transfer has a copy. If they try to pull the dirty trick on you, you are soooo covered. This is done just to be on the cautious side. I would hate to see them do this to you and your employer abide by it. That would suck. So, let Cash Transfer try to do it now. You are covered, my friend!

Oh, barman! Right on, my friend! Let's go to our boss and just explain to them... "I'm sorry, but you're not paying me enough, so I had to take out 100 illegal pdl's and now they're hounding me for money. Now, if you had paid me more, I wouldn't be in this situation. Could you please increase my pay by $20,000 per year? Thank you!" LOL!

It all depends . . . . Can you post a bit more information about your situation? What state are you in? What companies did you borrow from? How much? And how much have you paid back so far in fees?
