Hello everyone, Hope I can get some opinions on this.

I received a very nasty call from a Victor Lynch at Rollo Investigations who is supposedly working for Ten Dollar Pay Day Loan/MTE. I took out a loan with them two years ago under quickest cash advance and payed them off in full last year through Town and Country. Stupid me, I never thought to get a letter from T&C saying that this was paid off and after three months, they get rid of account information once the account is closed.

Here is the crazy part. I spoke to someone at MTE and told them that these people at Rollo are harassing me over a debt I paid. MTE said they didn't even have a record of my account with them. So I called Victor Lynch back to tell him this but he swore up and down that this debt is valid and that they want the entire fee of $390 by Friday or they will prosecute me for passing bad checks.

So my question is since I don't have any physical documents to fax to Rollo stating that I paid them, what can I do to keep these people from harassing me at work?

I was given a number for a Mr. Berry at MTE to follow up and I'm praying that he will be reasonable enough to send me a letter stating that they have no account information on me. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated. It just upsets me that after doing the right thing of paying them off, I am STILL being penalized for a moment of financial weakness.

They aren't even licensed to lend in your state. They are feeding you a bunch of BS. Don't call them back, don't answer their calls, don't even acknowledge them, period. You do need to file complaints with the FTC (link in my signature) and your Attorney General's office. Just google your state attorney generals website and fill out a complaint. If you are compelled to talk to them when they call, tell them they now have 5 initial days after their first contact with you PER FEDERAL LAW to send you a dunning letter (letter of collection) via the mail. It's all bogus.

Slow but totally worth it. Thank so much for the help. I will follow up with the FTC/AG in the morning.

Thanks everyone. I have chosen not to respond to them even though they still call me every two weeks with these automated messages. I have to wonder if MTE Financial sold this company information about my old payday loan and now they are trying to scam me out of more money. If you do a google search for their phone number, it turns up many complaints about them.

If you do a search on them at this site you'll finds hundreds of complaints about them just at this forum alone. They think they are above the law, they harass and threaten people all the time, I do hope you will follow through with filing complaints against them. Thanks for updating us.

Yes--I got a call this morning from the same company in Atlanta regarding this 10.00 payday loan and they were threatening to pick me up. I reside in New York City and this was back in 2005. I paid 10.00 pay day loan off in September but again because I do not have documentation and due to the fact that this has been this old. I did not keep documentation--My bank no longer exists because they were bought by CHASE. What can I do now. I asked them to send me documentation and the guy refused. Please help me. KOKO

file AG complaints against ten dollar payday.they are illegal and don't have documentation themselves.also pdl's are prohibited in NY so ten dollar payday lent illegaly in the first place.highly doubt that an illegal lender who lent in a state where pdl's are illegal as well can do anything but call.

I've never taken a payday loan from this or any loan company but the debt collection firm Parksman and Associates claim that owe them $895. I tried calling them on the phone but it seems I need to already have account with them to talk to anybody. Is there a different number that lets you talk to a live person?

The address of Parksman and Associates is

739 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama, 36301 and phone number is (334)792-1900

Hope this will help you.

So after contacting MTE Financial directly I was informed that they also could find no record of the loan I supposedly owe $895 on. When I gave them the details of the herassing phone calls they told me that these people were scammers and to not respond to them. So if you receive a phone call from people with Indian accents claiming to be from Parksman and Associates don't give them your info and don't let them bully you into paying them.
