MTE cracks me up,check your state laws about recording calls.get them to say that on tape if possible.they are not licensed anywhere.you know that so they try to talk real big.stick with it they will fold, they always do.

steve, the government agencies aren't going to refuse your letters. Is that what you mean? They are going to take your complaints and contact these companies on your behalf. They are working with you. As far as Ameriloan is concerned, paul has it right on. They are NOT licensed. And their illegal threats just goes to show you that they are certainly NOT a legit business. No, they are not licensed. No, the police are not going to come for you. As a matter of fact, I'm waiting for the day the police go knocking on THEIR door!

Oh, okay! Just make sure you keep records that you sent it and it was refused. You can include that fact in your complaints filed. I had many letters come back to me that I had sent to pdls stating "moved/left no address/no such address", etc. I made sure I included that in my complaints. It shows you that they are obviously trying to dodge you!

Also, as I'm thinking here, did you email/fax the letter to Geneva Roth? If not, do it. If you have an email or fax or both for them, send it to them that way. If you email it, put a "read receipt" request on the email so you'll know that they read it. If you fax it, make sure to print out the confirmation page showing that it went through.

Oh, steve. Let the games begin! I can't begin to tell you the games I had (and others) with Eastside Lenders. Holy crap! They are a joke. They can stick it. They keep hanging up on you. Nice. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you are recording all of this. Awesome move! Now Eastside will be a thorn in your side for awhile. They have a hard time giving up. They will argue with your state AG. (God love them). They will eventually turn you over to "collections" that goes by a different name; however, it is still "them". They will insist until they die that your laws don't apply to them. Blah, blah, blah. Keep emailing the crap out of them. They sooooo love that. And, be sure to ask them exactly what name they are operating under legally and to provide you with their license number showing they are legal to lend to you. They sooo love that, too! As far as your "fraud department" call from PaycheckToday, all I can do is laugh! "Fraud department". My God. All my MTE d/b/a's turned me over to their "fraud department". Fraud department? These guys aren't legal to lend in any state in the US. Hello! Tell them to go for it. Send you to the "fraud department". Tell them you would be interested in seeing who is committing "fraud"!

ok here is a letter i got from one step cash
OneStep Cash is in receipt of the form letter you filled out. In an effort to come to some kind of settlement to the terms and conditions you agreed upon when you first took out the loan in January, we are willing to waive all remaining fees going forward and only request that the original principal borrowed of $300. We can break this payment into three easy payments to help spread it out over your next three pay periods if you would like.
Since we are licensed in a state that allows us to charge the rate we charge and we do not have a physical location in the state of Tennessee, this transaction has not taken place in your state. Therefore, the full amount is still owed and the email that you sent to OneStep Cash can be construed as a form of extortion.
“Extortion, outwresting, or exaction is a criminal offense, which occurs when a person either unlawfully obtains money, property or services from a person, entity, or institution through coercion or intimidation or threatens a person, entity, or institution with physical or reputational harm unless he is paid money or property”.
Hopefully, we will hear from your shortly with a remedy that is acceptable to both OneStep Cash and yourself. We are sorry for the confusion and hope we can come to an amenable solution.
