I have multiple loans out and really doing well with taking care of some, but there are a couple internet ones that are really messing with me:

1000cashovernight.com -- also know as International Payment Services
Paycheck Today

I know my laws for Tennessee, but I dont know how to find if these users are licesned anyhere in the US?

IPS called me multiple times today threatening to garnish my wages. I sent one of the letters that I found on here, stating I do not authorize them to do so, etc. They are very nasty when they call. This is my first payment with them, I borrowed $200, they are saying I need to send in $600 right now to pay it off--- I was having problems with another one so my account is overdrafted and BOA turned down the ACH and wouldnt give them the $$.

How can I find out if they are legal or not? The address provided for IPS is Maryland, and PDL's are prohibited there.

They can't garnish your wages without a court order. What they will do is attempt a wage assignment, which you inadvertently gave them consent to do when you electronically signed your loan documents. The good news is that wage assignments are voluntary and can be revoked by you, in writing. Go the the "How to Deal will Illegal Lenders" sticky at the top of the forum and you'll see a letter you can email or fax to IPS and your job's HR department. Chances are IPS will ignore your wage assignment revocation, but your HR department cannot or they'll be in deep dung.
