I have lost all transactions regarding my payday loans. I have 4 or 5 out. A fire and loss of computer info has left me clueless. I just received a call from Smith, Haynes and Watson, so I figure this is for one of them. Is there a way to track down my payday loans so I can get them paid before I start to get all the harrassing calls?

Can you go to your bank and request copies of your monthly statements from the time you took out the loans until now.

They should have a record of that.

Also, what state are you in and do you know the names of any of the companies?

My friend took out 5 different payday loans over a year ago and has paid back nothing. He said they tried to work it out for a few months. But they haven't even contacted him in over a year. He said they could do nothing. All the places are here in town. After reading all of the posts on this site, I thought it was odd he hasn't had any trouble with this. The state is Tennessee.

Send them a cease and desist contact with you letter. Although, my best guess is they won't abide by it even though they are legally suppose to. Also, file complaints against them with the FTC, BBB and your AG.
