I was contacted by a company called Investigative Process Control claiming they had papers to serve, the address they had on file was so far off from my address and I asked who was filing the papers, they gave me the name of Jackson Roth Law Firm at 806-553-1124. I called the company and they claimed they were collecting for two payday loans for two different companies. Both of these companies are not legally allowed to lend in Texas, I did not know that at the time and I had paid them $260 on a $250 loan already, so I sent them a letter telling them they were no longer authorized to withdraw from my account. They tried to anyway so Wells Fargo placed a hold on them. They never contacted me again after receiving my letter stating that I considered the loan paid in full. Jackson and Roth claimed a lawsuit had been filed in my county and I would be served at work. I called my county office, district office, and local JP and no lawsuit had been filed. What should I do next?

first use the name and number of the scuzzbucket bottomfeeder to file a police report.then use the same info to file AG,AND FTC complaints.btw this is a piece of sh*t from my google search.betting they will throw out the ganishment threat.that would be pathetic as TX is non-garnishment.so file the report, complaints, and tell this place to FOAD.then hang up and do not engage them further.

Illegal payday lenders can’t take any legal action against you. Lawsuit filing by them is, thus, out of question. They were just trying to scare you so that you make the payments. You are required to pay only the principal amount. If you have already paid them more than the principal amount, then ask them for the refund. You can also request your bank manager to put a hard debit check on your bank account to stop unauthorized withdrawal.
By signing up for counseling session, your provided details (Name, Email ID and Phone No.) will be forwarded to the company advertising on the DebtCC. However, you have no obligation to use their services.
Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the pay off amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
