I received a call at work stating that if I did not agree to meeta courier in 24 hours with 400 dollars that Cash Zone would take me to jail for Theft By Check. He would agree to fax or sendme anything in writing for the fees and charges or agree to show me any paper work. The loan that I took out in June 2007 was for 300 I lost my job and was unable to pay. What is your suggestion. I have not recived anything in writing from Cash Zone.I can make arrangements on the balance to pay it next week but the man claims I have to pay it by today.

Please let us know what state you are in, however I don't believe you can be arrested. I have not heard or seen that in all my time here ...in spite of the fact it is frequently threatened. Especially if you are offering to pay but just at a latter date. With more info we may be able to give you more advice.

What reason did they give to take you to jail. I think they are just trying to scare you.

moniqe, I'll tell you right now, if you were going to be arrested, they would not call you first. Please believe that. Do the cops call people before they arrest them? No. Here's what you need to do. You need to contact your storefront IMMEDIATELY and tell them you can pay this next week. Call the store directly and speak with the manager. Honestly, no one calls and tells someone they are coming to arrest them. Please call the storefront as soon as you can and tell them you acknowledge that you owe this debt and you are very willing to pay it off next week.

Thanks, shazzers! Very Happy It's been done so many times. People calling and saying "We're coming to your home/job and arresting you." Now, honestly, no one calls ahead of time and tells you you're going to be arrested. That's like saying "Okay, get a head start! Run now so we can't find you." These illegal people are just insane. I do hope it eases her mind. I know I would freak out if someone said that to me!

Threatening to arrest someone is unless you are really going to do it is a sacare tactic. However, Texas does have a bad check law.

On another post, this member posted that she traced the number and found it to be from an individual that resides in an apartment complex. Sounds kind of weird.

monique, you have called them and they hang up on you? This is a storefront pdl, correct? And they are saying they don't know what you are talking about? Go to the Cash Zone in person. Ask for the manager. Tell the manager you have a check out with them. The manager should look it up. If they have sent it to collections, the manager should be able to tell you. You need to get in there and find out what is going on.
