I have three small loans and I live in MD

Greenlight 100 just paid first fee 45
AIP 200 paid first fee 89
Zipcash was 150 + fees 45x4 paid off 145 still owe 65
My amounts are small but I don't pay to keep paying fees forever. I read through some of the posts but my questions is when you get the info for your state what do you do next? And how can the info help?

Hi sfleet. I LOVE your avatar. Here are your state's laws regarding pdls (just select your state). Also, can you let us know if these are internet or storefront loans? Thanks.

It looks like you are in luck! They are prohibited in your state. Have you closed your checking account yet?

The state info will advise you of your state's payday lending laws. Chances are, the lenders you listed are in violation of your state's laws. You can use this information to your advantage by informing the lenders of the lending laws they are violating for your state.

Some members of this forum have actually found that they overpaid on their loans according to their state laws and requested refunds of the overpayment. Some have been successful in receiving them.

tiffany, sfleet's state PROHIBITS pdls. So sfleet doesn't have to go by her state's laws. They are prohibited. These are internet loans. sfleet, you need to close your bank account, my friend. Please read the sticky at the top of this site page regarding closing your account. If you have any questions regarding the bank situation, please post anything. Also, you will need to send out some letters to these illegal pdls. And then you'll need to file some complaints with the government agencies. Please get your bank account straightened out FIRST before doing anything. You need to prevent them from debiting your money any further. Please post ANY questions. We can help you with this. And, your avatar is awesome! sfleet, we can help you.

cannr, I started writing my post before eleroo's came through, so I didn't know at the time that pdls in sfleet's state are prohibited. Too slow, as usual.....!!

Wish they were illegal in my state!!!

pickett, please list who your loans are with, how much you borrowed from each and the total of how much you have paid back to each. Also, when you post this information, you may want to start your own thread, it will be easier for the members and you to find you again. IF you do start a new thread be sure to list your state so the members know which laws to refer to.
