First, thank you to everyone that has contributed towards this cause...especially Goudah. I have written a few new posts that may be useful. In addition, please let me know what else you would like to understand about payday loans.

James. . .nice to see you again. Your site is becoming quite the little gold mine! As you know I am now totally PDL free. . . .what a great feeling that is! As such, I am sure there is tons more that I could learn about this business. My dealings with the PDLs has just brushed the surface, I am sure, but my desire to "know more" is as strong as ever. Please keep the posts coming. . .a day without learning is a wasted day. Thanks again.

Well, it would appear that when trying to access the website you get and oops flag. I hope all is okay with him.

Hi all. Thanks for the concern. It is really nice to come here and see that. My site is in fact down. However, if there is anything I can do to help I'll be glad to. Everyone has been very kind and receptive even if my thoughts didn't reflect the norm. I am not abandoning any of those that may need help. If you have specific questions about the PDL industry I'll be glad to answer to the best of my ability.
My words of advice would be this:
In trying to get out of this mess, understand that you are not dealing with a simple right or wrong, legal or illegal, matter. Addressing a pdl may not be useful because they, frankly, don't follow laws as you and I know them. Addressing your bank may not be useful. If they can get you off the phone and do as little work as possible, they will. Processors will do the same thing. There is no one, sure-fire solution. Your individual cases will not be opening eyes to something new.
Rather, to get out of this will take knowledge, determination and persistence. It's about negotiation. Many people will take the same courses and get different results depending on how they present their case and, simply, who they get on the other end.
Try to deal with the legal companies involved in your transactions as much as possible and get them to help you. Go to your bank in person, if possible. Bring a copy of your Letter of revocation as well as a copy of the Electronic Funds Transfer Act and how it pertains. Don't assume they know the laws...they usually don't. Do not allow laziness to be an excuse on their part. we've all had a lousy customer service experience where right/wrong didn't matter because of a stubborn ass...get around those people. Do not talk to an uncaring rep on the phone. Get a manager, in person, and make them be responsible. Do not accept an answer contrary to the law from legal companies. Do not let someone tell you that you are wrong or belittle you for getting into this mess. Make it worth their while to get rid of you by showing knowledge, persistence, determination and focus.
Some people reading this will say it doesn't work. For those people, they are right. It doesn't work. But for those that have gotten out of this, and "this" is exactly the same situation over and over with different names, they know otherwise.
Use any outlet or resource you can. This is not a 1 solution problem. That would be my sincere advice to anyone.
-James

James I have a question.....I am not sure how much you may be able to help but I will ask! I am having problems with my bank and have since the start. I had filled out all the paperwork that they made me fill out and they actually deemed that three withdraws from the pdls were fraud which was in early Jan. Anything after that up until March they said was not fraud even from the same companies that they said were fraud. How is that? Nobody at the bank can help me and tells me I need to talk to the ACH department which I call and everytime I call, and I am not kidding everytime, I get a voice mail. I leave a message they NEVER call back. I guess I just want to understand how they could say some are fraud and some are not especailly when they are from the same company at a later date. Do you have any information on this. I am also in the process of preparing a letter to the president and CEO of the bank as suggested by someone here on the post. The bank has not been helpful in this mess and I wanted to let them know. I am also filing a complaint against them with the CCC. I can never get the same answer twice and get the run around all the time. It has been a mess.
