Thanks., I am going to try and take your advice and not freak out anymore. I am also not answering any numbers I don't know when they show up on the caller ID.-

Well, I have not received a call since last Wednesday. I am hoping this is a good sign. I have checked with both of the payday loans I had at the time they are referring to and they tell me I am okay with both of them. Now I am wondering about the loans I know could still be outstanding. I have not gotten calls on them but am wondering if I should be proactive about making sure these are settled. They are all from 2-3 years ago. How do I go about doing this??

One of the loans I had was with MTE Financial. I made payment arrangments with them last fall. I made one payment but had trouble making the second one. I called and called to make arrangements on the second payment but, like others have said on this forum, I could not get through to anyone. How can I get this resolved with them?
The other one is Worldwide Cash. Any advice on how to get in touch with them or deal with them?
I just want to make sure all of my loans are paid off now so I don't get any more of these calls ever again!

Well I will tell you off the back both of those loans are ILLEGAL as heck! WWC is in the UK. And MTE is ILLEGAL everywhere. They have no business lending in the US anywayz. So this is probably why they have not contacted you in so long they probably just wrote it off. If you feel obligated to pay what you borrowed then fine. I would not stir the pot if I was you, but I see your nerves are on edge at this point. They cannot do anything to you LEGALLY! How much have you paid them in fees alone if any?

I don't know how much I have paid them in fees alone. The loans are from 2006 I think so would have to go back and look. As I said, I did pay half to MTE but never heard back from them when I needed to make arrangements on the other half. Sorry ... Worldwide was in 2006. MTE was fall of 2007. Are you saying I should not do anything?

Now I am not saying don't do ANYTHING. I have provided most updated info to my knowledge, BUT I am with Paul. These clowns are not trying to get paid if they are not willing to validate the debt by not honoring your request. No information, No payment. Simple as that!

I have not even heard from either of these companies. I was just trying to be proactive in getting them taken care of. Is this the wrong approach? I have not heard from either of them.

I do not know how much I owe either one. I know I paid both of them for quite awhile so I am thinking I probably overpaid but then I had a return of the extension fee with each one of them. This is when I started to make payment arrangements. I have no clue about Worlwide and would have to go back through my bank statements. As far as MTE, like I said, I made payment arrangements with them, paid the first half as I had agreed to but then had to call back to make arrangements on the second payment and have never been able to get through. I quit trying about three months ago but now with the calls I have been getting from these crazy people, I am wondering if I should try to get in touch with them again?

I agree with paul. For example. If you borrowed $200 from WWc and paid $360 in fees, and they are stating you owe $289 more on principal borrowedWRONG ANSWER!! You are DONE with them! That is what we mean by making sure you are finished with them first before you contact them, they owe you a refund. They are ILLEGAL to the EXTREME, also you need to know your state laws before you go throwing your money away

Amen, Paul! I agree! See J9284, technically, since they are unlicensed to lend here in the US, then technically your loans are void and you do not have to pay them back. Morally you should, however, since you have already paid MORE than you borrowed, then you have fulfilled your obligation.
Since they are unlicensed, they would be unsuccessful IF they were to try to sue you. Chances are they won't sue you b/c they don't have a "valid" contract to enforce. What they are doing is extortion.
Just ignore them!

Some state laws say the loan is void, but other state's don't, and a judge could enforce the contract if they wanted. That is a reason why it's always best to at least pay back what you borrowed. That way it doesn't look like you are trying to get money for free and get a judge that sides with these companies.
