Unfortunately, I answered the phone today because it was a local area code. I was not expecting them so does this mean the cycle starts up again? I also told him this morning I cannot have calls at work and he still called back this afternoon. I didn't answer the second time. I had two payday loans during the time frame they are talking about. I am okay with one and talked to another one yesterday and today. I made payment arrangements with them about this time and also was diagnosed with cancer at the same time. They worked with me over paying it off and settled it for $30 less than what I actually owed. I have gotten calls from this collection agency occasionally over the past two years and it has been from this payday loan. I have to call the loan company each time and remind them of the settlement they made which was $30 less than the original loan. They explained to me that since the system still showed I owed $30 that when they download past due files to the collection agency, mine automatically goes. I talked to her again this morning and she assured me she will call them and fax them and tell them to quit calling me as it was a mistake that they received it. Due to everyone's advice on here, I also asked for a PIF letter from them and she said she would send one. She said she would take care of it today but they have still called twice. When he called today, he said they had received "another file" in their office on me. As you will recall, he just keeps naming off payday loan places when he talks to me and I have never had loans with any of these places so I think by saing "another file" they are just trying to name another loan company I never had a loan with. I am at the end of my rope here.

So my question is, if you see that they are scamming you with all this bogus information that is inaccurate. Why are you stressing?

Honestly, Anya, I wish I knew. I am just so scared of these guys calling my employer. It is like they just won't leave me alone. I wish I could be as calm as you and others are on here. I have alerted the gal who backs me up on the phone as well as our receptionist but my boss has been out of town for two weeks. They have very strict guidelines here and the receptionist does not put a cold call through unless you practically tell your family history. She assures me no one would get through to my boss, but you are right, I am freaking. Darn! Everytime I have a few days I think I am getting better, they call again.

Tell the receptionist to let them know you were terminated, and if you answer tell them YOU were terminated! It is not like they have cameras at your desk Do not worry. They will give up. Just take precautions and keep your back up alert if the termination does not work out. But I am pretty sure they will give up. If she is not gonna put calls through anyway, then you ARE FINE. Breath and relaxe It will be fine! Do not pay them a dime without validation of that debt they are claimimg you owe!!

I don't think our receptionist will tell them I have been terminated. This is a very straight laced professional place and I don't think they would do that. Tell me about your personal experience with them. Did they finally just give up with y ou and how long did it take?

I just got ripped of by US National Bank on Friday. They went in my account and took out all my money and I just got paid. I think my account information got stolen because I applied for some PDL's on line from e-mail advertisements instead of going to websites and somehow someway this so called US National Bank was able to go in and get my funds from the banking information from the PDL's I applied for. Check your bank account and make sure that this fraudlent company has not ripped you off. If you haven't been hit yet, notify your bank ASAP and let them know of this situation. They will probably suggest that you close your bank account and open another one. Don't worry they are the criminals and you are the victim. There is no such company and don't let them tell you otherwise. Also file a complaint with BBB and contact your State Financial Regulations Office and the FTC. I bet between the three of them, this person will stop using scare tactics to get money in their pockets.

That is what US National Bank does! THEY ARE SCAMMERS!! You will see it repeated over and over on this forum. Trust me. Like Paul stated it will take them a couple of weeks to stop calling if you do not entertain them.

Well, I am hoping I have made some progress on this.... I did some more investigating and found out the original collection agency that got my account was called I-Collect. One of my former payday loan companies had an office manager that was nice enough to tell me this. I went on this site and found that I-Collect typically sells their stuff to Bass and Associates. The office manager for the one payday loan I had that was settled was nice enough to call them for me and have them remove me from their system. She is also going to send me a PIF letter. She did mention to me, however, that I-Collect had told her that I had "several" accounts with them. So, I continued to call the payday loan companies I had had loans with in the past. There was one other one who had settled with me when I first got sick. I had not contacted them originally because they were not in the time frame the collectors were quoting to me. Come to find out this had been turned over to a collection agency too even though it had been settled. Guess what? Their collection agency was also I-Collect. The lady at the payday loan company was very nice but said there was nothing she could do once it was sent to collections. I told her I had filed a complaint with the FTC, Attorney General, BBB and was going to see an attorney this week who specialized in abuse of the Fair Debt Collection Act. She must have called them because last night I got an email from I-Collect stating they had received information on the settlement and that no further collection activity will be taken against me. I am hoping this means this is now taken care of. However, if they said I had "several" accounts I am afraid they may still call although at this point I have checked with everyone and have been told I am okay with each one. I have asked for PIF letters (thanks to you guys)but have not received any yet. I think I may still send cease and desist letters to both I-Collect and Bass & Associates on Monday. What do you guys think??

I've started getting calls also. The man with a made-up accent says his name is Charles Menke and I'm going to be downloaded and the issue is time-sensitive and he can just wish me good luck. So I told him he is being reported to local, state and federal authorities.

So, do you guys think I still should send Cease and Desist letters to Bass and also I-Collect even though they have sent me an email saying that collection efforts will stop.

I only have one other old payday loan company I have not talked to. They are MTE Financial. I made payment arrangements with them last fall and did make some payments to them but I am not sure it was paid in full. I have repeatedly tried to call them but get caught up in a voicemail loop and can never get anyone. I sent them an email this morning saying I wanted to know the status of my account. Is this the right thin g to do? I have repeatedly tried to call these guys to give them money but no one ever calls me back.

Okay, I thought I was out of this. I got an email from I-Collect saying there would be no further collection activity. I have not had a call since last Friday until tonight. I didn't answer but when I tried the number back the guy answered "Restitution Services." What do I do now????? I have one more outstanding payday loan out there that I have only paid half on. I have repeatedly tried to call them but they never call me back. It is MTE. Could this be why they are calling. I sent MTE an email say ing I had been trying to get in touch with them. I-Collect told me no more collection efforts. What do I do??

Hi guys. I am still trying to hang in there. No calls since last Thursday but I am sure they will start up this week. Any more advice?? I know you are tired of hearing from me but please bear with me. Your advice is the only thing that has gotten me through this!

No calls is great!! Just stick to your guns as we previously informed you J. When they call as they will, request debt validation(which they won't provide) and that is it. Keep calm and collective, OK Stop worrying, relaxe! Best of Luck!
As for MTE as we said before they are ILLEGAL as heck, send them and email requesting a balance of your account. You only owe the principal. If it has been several years, why stir the pot? If this debt collection company is collecting for MTE, then they are WRONG for collecting on a ILLEGAL debt anywayz. If MTE has not notified you directly, then what can you do. Like we stated over and over in the past, only pay what you are morally obligated to pay. For example, if you borrowed $300 from MTE and paid $270 in fees, you owe $30 simple as that Make sure you include in that email to MTE that if you do not get a response within 72 hours, you will consider this matter closed. Best of luck.
Here is there email info:
