So back in 2006 I had a pdl and it was almost paid off when i closed my checking account...I only owe them $65 bucks now but they are requesting the full amount of $200 bucks...So what should I do....

Dear Alwaysthinking,

I don’t think that you should make a single dime to them. As you have already closed your checking account, I don’t think that they can force you much. Also check out the PDL laws of your state. You can also mention the state where you live, and we can provide you with the legalities related to PDLs in your state.

hi, are you getting calls from the original creditor or from a third-party collection agency? It might be a collection agency who have contacted you. Get it clarified first.

If its a CA then they may be adding fees and charges liable on the collection with the amount you owe and thus have inflated the amount.

Get back to us with the answers, we can then move ahead to find out a proper solution to the problem.
