A so-called friend used my computer and email address to obtain internet pdl's which she had kept current until recently she closed her account now I am getting nasty messages from these companies. What do I do, now they have my email address and I have sent her through the usps copies of these email in hopes that she would call them but she hasn't and won't return any of my phone calls.

I don't think I'd be referring to her/him as a "friend" that's for sure!

I have tried to call her on the phone and so have some of her friends and she won't answer the phone so I have just printed off these emails and sent them to her through the mail. Can they do anything to me, (meaning the pdl places since they have my email address)?

Even though you had said the emails are coming to your email address, are they specifically addressed to you, or your "so-called" friend? What she did is just flat out wrong, and fraud, identity theft if she used your name. If she didn't use your name, then I would do as the previous posts had said; give the pdls her telephone# and address.
Not to mention, I would also be done with her once the matter gets straightened out.

I would send them (the payday lenders) an e-mail your friend's name and address, so they can contact her. Also report them to your internet provider.

I agree with other posters - give the PDL's her contact information and for goodness sakes, in the future, be more careful with your computer. We don't like to think our friends would do something like this, but she doesn't sound like much of a friend!! Hopefully she didn't have any access to any of your personal info (such as bank accounts, Social Security #, etc); but just to be on the safe side, at least for a while, keep a close watch on your bank account to make sure there's no unauthorized withdrawals or other activity.
