I have spoken to a gentleman at the Department of Financial Institutions and he wants me to prepare letters for all the internet payday loan that are not licensed in Utah. He wants me to mail them to him and then he is going to send them a letter or contact them.

Has anyone else worked with their state's department of financial institutions?

Thank you,
Jenny-Linn

Yes I worked with Utah DFI for the Little Loan Shoppe. They were helpful in some ways

I am so afraid to give out any information so I wasn't sure if anyone had dealt with their state's DFI.

I am still getting harassing phone calls at work. I just hope they don't call my references or boss.

Thanks!

If they do contact them then tell them you are are victim of fraud, which is the truth.

Tell them you are working with your bank and the DFI, also true.

That is excellent advice. Thanks! This is the best website ever! I appreciate everyone who has helped me through this scary time. I am changing my bank and my cell phone number. This has been a hard lesson. It was done out of desperation and with no one to turn to, but I would never do it again! These payday loan companies are horrible. Thanks for all your support!
