Sub: Utah Payday Loan Help

Forgive me for having to post yet another beginner payday loan question but I have been online several different times, through your help pages and I'm just so unsure about Utah's rules.

My name is Tina.
I Reside in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I have 5 payday loans in default.

Date Creditor Type Original Fees Pmnts
10/21/08 PayDay1 Online payday loan 500.00 112.50 112.50 10/20/08 CashNetUSA Online payday loan 500.00 125.00 125.00
10/31/08 Check City Store front pd loan 250.00 40.00 80.00
11/14/08 Check-N-Go Store front pd loan 546.00 182.00 0 11/21/08 Check City Store front pd loan 200.00 34.29 0

Things started going wrong with my WAMU bank account and everything bounced. Currently my bank account is -$1010.49 and I think they may have closed it as of 12/29/08. ( I did manage to get another checking account going.)

It went bad so quickly and grew into such a monster that I finally gave up. I have made no recent payments and I have just stopped answering my phone calls.

At first I tried to get a couple of loans to consolidate but I got denied several times even with co-signers.
I work full time and I am expecting my tax returns soon.
I wan't to get this resolved I just can't do it all at once and I can't seem to find anyone willing to help me.

Can someone please help me with my creditors licensing in Utah and Utah Law and recommend my best course of action. Please and Thank You.

PayDay One is legal. Contact them to make payment arrangments. They are easy to work with.

CashNetUSA is legal as well. You need to contact them. I am not sure how nice they are but they will make payment arrangments.

Check n Go is legal. You will have to contact them about arrangments.

Check City would be legal as they are a store front.

Since your account is closed I would just contact these one at a time. Make arrangements with one or two if you can and then make the payments until they are paid and then move on to the next one.

Utah has one of the most lax payday lenders laws, unfortunately.
CLICK HERE to read about your payday loan laws. I would follow nohiogal advice, but make sure any checks you have out there have a stop payment on them, or contact your lenders in writing and inform them your checking account is no longer opened and send it certified mail with a return receipt so you will have proof you informed them.
