Yes they are and they are legal ones too. I dont know what to do I am afraid that I might go to jail, lose my job, lose my husband, and even possibly my kids. I have really screwed tings up and i feel like there is no end in sight. I am going to the bank today and put a freeze on my account. I then am going to contact CashNetUsa and tell them of the situation and see what we can do. I dont know what else I can do. Please if you have insight on something else PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I am very depressed and scared if I cant come up to a solution that I might do something stupid. I feel embaressed that I got myself into this mess. I worked so hard to get the things I have and the life I have. Now I have to find a way out! I figured it up last night and I have paid VC Funding a total of $1260 dollars on a $200 loan!!!! How messed up is that? Someone PLEASE HELP, DESPERATE!!! I understand one day at a time I just dont want my family to have to pay for my mistakes.

Please - These are only small loans. They are not worth the stress and worry you are putting yourself through. You will not go to jail, lose your kids, anything like that. You can get through this! Most all of us here have been right where you are and lived through it!

Seriously, don't do something stupid. These places aren't worth it. Follow the advice on this forum - I know Sassnlucy is in your state and has dealt with several of the companies you are. She can tell you what to expect and how to deal with them. The rest of us can give you advice on other things like dealing with your bank account, family, and general support. No one here is going to call you stupid or say this is all your own fault. If so, we would be insulting ourselves.

You can get through this. It will take a little time, but it is very worth the effort.

Did you read the post about closing your account?

http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com...e-account.html

Please read that, it is the first step you need to take in clearing up these loans.

The storefronts and the licensed internet companies will be your first priority in paying off. Once they are done, then you can deal with the unlicensed, illegal companies that are gouging you for way more then legally allowed.

Hang in there, you have found a place where everyone understands your problems. We can help you with this.

Can they follow you to another bank account? If I only gave them access to my primary account? What happens if I block them? My husband thought it would be a good idea to get a new checking account at a different bank before the s*** hits the fan. Do you agree with him? I have learned a lot form this and now I am just trying to clean it up. I called Cashnet and she sounded so very nice on the phone and told me that I was not the first person who she has had to deal with in my situation. I feel awful about all of this and I wish I would have learned before it was to late. I guess now i will have to work at this slowly. Thanks for all the help. I have a lot of work ahead of me.

Can someone help me I would like to know what I would leagally owe in Ohio if I borrowed $200, $300, $400, $480, and $500 loan amounts. I know that the Ohio laws are on here I just want to make sure my math is right.

Once you have a new account they can not get access to it. I did that too...I opened a new account AT A DIFFERENT bank the day after I closed my "bad" one. Do that and make your money safe so you can start living again. You will have to make payment arrangements on the legal ones..the others and most definitely the ones you have overpaid can just wait. Most of us here have overpaid pdls many times over and are not giving them one penny more. You can do this...we all have been where you are. 2 months ago I thought I owed over 2k in pdls and it turned out I owed under $500. I had 10 and only really owed any money to 2 or 3. There are letters you can find on this site to send to the internet pdls revoking their right to contact you by phone, debit your bank account, etc. Your first step is to get control of your money again...now read the link that Goudah sent you and work on one thing at a time. You didn't get these all in one day and you won't get rid of them all that quick either...

rgardner, your priority right now is the 2 store fronts you have. They are licensed and legal. You need to get them straightened out. I'm sure sassnlucy can help you there, if she hasn't already. But get the "legal" ones squared away. The internet ones are not as important right now. They can wait. Have you contacted the 2 store fronts at all? And have you done anything with your bank account yet? As stated above, sassnlucy can give you advice regarding how to do this properly in your state with the licensed pdl's. Keep us posted on what's going on. And do NOT be afraid to ask questions.

Well where is sassnlucy? I have only heard a little from her. I contacted cashnetusa and told them what was up and she was really nice on the phone. She told me to call back on monday and that they would be able to do something once it went to collections. I told her I dont intend on stiffing them I just need some kind of help making arrangments. She informed me that I am not the first person who has beeen through this and she is sure I wont be the last. I am so glad I called them. I really feel like I am finally taking steps to get my life back. Thanks. Opened a new account at a new bank. They even gave us $100.00 for opening an account with them. WOW!! Talk about luck.

I am really confused because I thought I read in another post somewhere that opening up a new account less than six months old does not keep the prior bank from getting their fees or the PDL's. Maybe it was just the other bank? So I was thinking after reading RGard's last post about opening up a bank account and became puzzled.

So should I and hubby go ahead and open a new account before he closes the one that we have now?

Default Same situation

I also have 7 PDL's...well, 6 now b/c I faxed letters to all of them yesterday and one of them stated they will consider my account PAID IN FULL. I'm waiting to hear on the others. I faxed them info on Massachusetts law which limits annual interest to 23%. My dilemma is my next scheduled payments are for July 27th and if the companies are not going to cancel my payments I want to pay some in full. But, I don't want to tell them that yet. I can't close my bank account etc b/c I had some other situation that may make it difficult for me to open another one.

Default banks

If you're able to - go open a new account at a different bank. If you're unable to - put a hard debit block on your account so pdl debits don't go through. Now, for the person who posted that they want to pay some pld's - do you want the pdl debits to go through? Is that your plan? Or are you saying you don't want them to go through & set up a payment plan yourself?

Redwolf - Yes, go open a new account. I think what you may have been reading was some posts about chexsystems. Some banks do sweeps on new accounts for the first 6 months, and if they find out you have a new chex report, they could freeze and close your account.

Rgardner...please relax. You are not going to lose your kids over these loans.
The amounts you would owe for these amounts are as follows:

$200=$230
$300=$345
$400=$460
$480=$562.50 (I think)
$500=$575

I am sorry that I did not get to this post earlier!!! And don't be embarassed. This is an embarassment free zone. You know how many of us have done the same thing? When you are desperate, you do desperate things like take out pdl's. Now, you dealt with Cashnet. That wasn't bad at all, was it? See????
You absolutely did the right thing opening a new account at a different bank. Now do not give that account number to anyone, not even the storefront pdls ok?

Default letters

Isn't there some type of letter on a link on here somewhere that rgardner can use as a "format" and tailer to her own needs? I'm sure there is, just not sure where. However, rgardner, if you use a letter as an example, please just use it as that - an example. The letter will need to be tailered to YOUR specific state law, your specific loan amounts, your specific paid amounts, etc. You need to just use it as an example. I'm sure there is a link somewhere on here to a letter. Polly's blog? Anyone? Help?

Default rgardner

rgardner, I changed mine just today. I was trying to stick it out since it's such a hassle to change your phone number, but I finally got tired of seeing those stupid calls on my phone and no messages. Just call after call after call. All day long my cell phone would "beep" at me with blocked numbers. No messages. Today was it. I called my phone company and changed the damn number. And, I'm telling you right now, it's only been a matter of hours and I swear to you, I'm already feeling more relaxed. No more calls at night, during the day, etc. I got 2 calls this morning and said "that's it". Got it changed and my phone hasn't rang again! LOL! So if you're just asking for an opinion - mine is go for it. I did it and I swear, that small little thing has helped me relax already.

Rgardner, when I get to work I will send you the letter that I used. Please just tailor it to suit your situation and put it into your own words. If we all use the same letters, these companies are going to catch on. In fact, many of us, me included, have been accused of sending "form letters that are circulating the internet." Big deal, they do the same thing. I think if you are getting a lot of harassing calls at home, I would change my phone number. The only reason I didn't is because my husband wouldn't let me. He thinks that is stupid....I think he's....well never mind what I think of him......
