rgardner, if it's AIP that's spouting the laws of Delaware to you, they are full of it. Did you file a complaint with the BBB? I actually got it resolved through the BBB and I received a refund. However, I still did file complaints with the FTC and my state AG. Do you have the information on AIP to give to the BBB and other agencies? You probably do, but if you need more information, let me know. I have information on AIP. On your other two pdl's, you've, of course, overpaid. However, they are the harder ones to deal with. I personally haven't dealt with them (thankfully), but Route 66 is going to be a hard one to get ahold of, settle with, etc. You definately need to file complaints with the FTC and your state AG on them, big time. It might take time, but they might come through for you.

I was just reading a few posts and ran accross 2 that said AIP was easy to work with and gave refunds...I would go ahead and request it...state your laws, etc. All they can say is no...but if they say yes....there you go!!!

Ummmmmmmm. YES! I got a refund from AIP in the blink of an eye just through the BBB. They know they are wrong. If you've overpaid, send them a letter, file your complaints, and see what happens. More than likely the BBB complaint will be enough. However, make sure you file complaints with all the agencies. They still need to be reported.

I am in a PDL nightmare. I had to close my old bank account and have opened a new one, but have had threats from Westbury Ventures that they will search a data bank and get into my new account. I am worried that they can do this, does anyone know if they can legally do this? Please help!!!!!

From what I learned from state's legal aide department legally they can not do that, (I got the same threatening email) the only way they could even attempt to get any $ out of your account is if they have your routing number and account number or new account. Hopefully you have closed that account and opened a new one up at a totally different bank. Do not apply for anymore PDL's that is a sure fire way of protecting yourself from any other unauthorized ACH's.

Lady
what she is afraid of is that they threatened to get into a bank data base and find her new bank info.
I wonder if they can do that. If its that easy why dont they all do it?????

Regarding AIP, I faxed/sent letters, complained to all the agencies people here told me (BBB, FTC, California Dept of Corp.). So far they are trying to tell me that paying a total of $1157 in "fees" doesn't apply to the principal...CRAP! So, we'll see. Keep you guys posted...THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP EVERYONE!!

There is a thread on here from the other day where goudah was posting regarding this same issue. I would google search this site for westbury ventures and see if the posts come up regarding what goudah stated.

I just received an email from the BBB and they said that I WILL be getting a refund from AIP in the mail. Well I guess I will have to wait and see. It would really come in handy because my husband is laid off and my parents lost a lot in the great flood of 2007 in Findlay, Ohio. So I would give them some cash to help out with the little stuff. Anything is better than nothing. It is sso noce to finally be able to breath again. Thank You all for ALL the help and the support. I have managed to get PIF for some of my PDL.

Oh! That sucks! I have a friend in Findlay too.

You should be getting the refund from AIP. They are usually very good about that sort of thing.
