"Ace Check Cashing" is not licensed in TX. You should only repay them the principal balance of $1000. No fees/interest are payable. If you've already paid more than that, ask for a refund.

The Cash Store is legal and you'll have to work out a payoff arrangement with them. I suggest you contact them right away to do so.

You should contact the TX OCCC for further guidance. They are extremely helpful in these instances.

Well, the above post seems to be quite informative on the legalities. However, if you don't pay them, they certainly will be trying all ways to contact you. This usually is part of the deal when taking out loans.

The only concern that I see with ohiogal's post is with Ace. I know that there is a legal Ace and an illegal Ace that is online. My question is whether the legal Ace is/has been doing loans online. Does anyone know?

I have been working a ton and picking up more in the near future. Just because I have not been posting, I have been lurking a few times a week. When I stopped posting ;ast year, I made the decision to essentially stay out of the illegal lender discussions and try to help in with legal lenders. The problem is that there are a few that still just can't seem to seperate fact from fiction and it gets frustrating.

As for this topic, I was not sure abou the status of Ace or better yet, which Ace.
