I've sent the illegal pdl letters to 3 of the 6 pdls and am wondering what I should do next. I am unable to open a new checking account now and don't know what I am supposed to do. Please if someone can give me some more advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Wait for their replies. The illegal payday loan lenders may tell you that they don't fall under the US laws and you should pay them as per the loan agreement. But, don't believe them.

Why are you not able to open a new checking account? Ignore the illegal pdl lenders. Just make payments to the legal lenders.

Idk, telechex system or something. The bank told me something appeared on my credit report after I made the request which they said would take a day to process. So I got denied a new checking account. I did just receive the following from one of the pdl's, I took the person's name out who sent it:

Good Morning,

Can anyone give me some more advice on what to do? I've got a new checking account, sent ACH and wage assignment revocation letters, filed with my state DFI so far and am wondering what to do next?

for one the email is BS and totally delusional.no tribal loan is legal,or enforceable.now glad to see you did get another account.just know that unless you give them the new number they don't have it,and you do not give it to them either.now you respond to the email this way.

i am not a member of the tribe, and that being the case my state law prevails.nice try.

then you wait to see who else responds and how they respond.keep us posted and enjoy the silence for now.

I did get a collections notice from HBC Services for one of the loans, however from what I can tell they are an illegal online PDL. I cannot find anything on them and received a call from a guy yesterday who said "If I don't call back or make payment arrangements he'll turn it over to lawyers who will then file against me for check fraud". I thought I've seen that I cannot be charged with check fraud for defaulting on a PDL. I've also been reading through statutes and found that any lender, regardless if they're store front or internet, need to be licensed in my state (WI) in order to issue loans to state residents. I left a message for consumer protection after trying to speak with my AG and didn't hear back today so I'm calling tomorrow. I'm hoping someone can give me more advice on what to do.

The ones I did send letters to, I never heard anything back from them other than the one I posted. Not a single one has sent me any type of message outside of the collections notice which is sounding semi bogus. Any ideas anybody?

You can obtain a free annual copy of your TeleCheck report by calling 1-800-366-2425. If an illegal PDL has reported negative information on your report, you can dispute it. If your prior bank reported you to TC due to multiple overdrafts, or NSF returns that were incurred because of illegal PDLs, you should dispute those as well.

Should I send a debt validation letter to the collection agency this guy called from? I just thought it was funny that he said their lawyers, who aren't in my state, would file for check fraud in my city. He also asked that I give him my credit or debit card information to make a payment, which I told him I have yet to receive and wouldn't make a payment until January anyways. I asked that he not only email me a summary of the payment options but also send me a letter stating these and I so far, 3 days later, have not received an email with any information. I'm not calling the guy back at all.

If he sounded like he was in India, I would just ignore.

If they're in the states, yes - send the validation letter.

Lol no he was in the states, I did get a collection notice in the mail however I did also ask for a break down of the payment options which I was not given yet.

One of the company's I did send the illegal pdl letter to, AdvanceMeToday, who is in Costa Rica of all places, just left me a voicemail asking to call them back. I've sent them a letter stating I only wish to talk through mail or email. I borrowed $400 from them and paid 1 refinance fee of $120 and stated I would pay back the remaining $280 however only if provided with a physical mailing address. Since they're the original creditor, would it matter if I sent a cease and desist stating to stop calling my work?

So I received an email from the same place that I posted the response up above stating they are going to report me as writing bad checks. Is this even possible with PDL's, especially illegal online tribal ones?

to report you to SCAN,or CERTEGY they would have to produce the actual check.an ach debit consent is not a check.an empty threat by a piece of dirt.

What about the one that I did get a collections notice saying they'd take me to court if I didn't make payment arrangements. They said they'd file in my county for check fraud. Is that even possible? I still never heard back from the Consumer Protection Dept when I called the AG. I may just file online complaints with the AG over the weekend then call next week. I just don't know what I can and can't do with these people.

Stop believing what they tell you. Stop letting them intimidate you. They are trying to collect on an ILLEGAL loan. They don't have a leg to stand on.
