Genesis financial solutions is picking up Zip19's unpaid loans. It appeared on our credit report and doesn't even list Zip19 as the original creditor. Does anyone know if this is legal?

I dealt with their phone calls for 2 months after i closed my bank account on them for not disclosing fees to me during our contract, but thanks to the advice from a few on this forum to fax a cease and decist letter, the ordeal is over.

I received a letter from them saying they have stopped all phone calls and collection efforts since my fax and offered to settle for the original $300 borrowed in 2 western union payments.Even though it resulted in $26.40 in western union fees it,s still lower than the $117 in fees they tried to charge.

I did get an email next day after 1st payment saying i owed the original balance minus $150,but a phone call to them ,they said just pay the 2nd payment and it,s done. They were very friendly on the phone this time vs extremely rude when i tried to argue the fees.I guess the letter must mean i have to pay original balance with fees to be able to borrow from them again since i read the small print and that,s what it said but i learned my lesson on pdl,s and will never use again!Once again thanks to you on this forum for advice.

I find zip19 to charge less than most payday loan companies. They charge 20% of what you borrow and most other payday loan companies charge 30%.

Okay....I got a $300 loan from zip19.com on 04/15/09 and they took out the $359.94 on 04/24/09. I know that was just a few days ago......but everything seems to be okay. They didn't over charge me. When I log into the website, it shows that I do NOT owe any more money. So I am confused if I should be worried or not.

josman27510, you don't have to worry. I have been using Zip19 for 6 months now, and they've always been OK. Once your loan is repaid, it's over.

The reason I use zip19 is because they are cheaper than othen PDL's I've found on the internet ... it's like 19% I think.

I am in charge of payroll at my company and I received a phone call and email from ZIP19 asking for employment verification. I instructed them to provide me with a signed release from the employee that I am permitted to release this information. They emailed me a letter, no authorization. So I took it upon myself and called the employee to verify and he said absolutly not, do not give his information. That he NEVER inquired with ZIP19 or anything relevant. So, I called the number listed on the "letter" and not to my suprise duh no authorization....This place is a scam!

If you signed a wage assignment with them, then yes they can. You will need to write a letter revoking the wage assignement.

Other than that, they would have to obtain a judgement against you in order to garnish your wages.

You people are idiots. When you sign for a payday loan online you are applying with more then one company unless you apply on a direct site. Read the fine print when you sign online documents. Dont take out payday loans if you dont intend on paying it off. Zip19.com is licensed by the state of Malta and your state laws dont apply. If it is illegal to loan in your state maybe you shouldnt be loaning. simple as that.

Zip19.com does not scam people. read your online loan documents. No interest is charged and the fees are very affordable.

They do their part in giving you the money, do your part and repay it!
