House Bill 444 includes changes that affect the check cashing industry in Kentucky. The bill was signed by Gov. Steven L. Beshear on March 25, 2009. Some provisions took effect on June 25, 2009, and most other provisions took effect on Jan. 1, 2010, as specified in the bill.

Please note the following general provisions, as well as when these provisions will be implemented. All check cashing companies should become familiar with the contents of HB 444.
