All that stands between Ohio's 1,600 payday lenders and the end of their current existence is the signature of Gov. Ted Strickland.
The pen should hit the paper on House Bill 545 next week, a Strickland spokesman said. The law would take effect 90 days later.
THANK GOODNESS>>>>>

Good to hear; I'll check out a couple of the Ohio news sites and their message forums; should be 'interesting,' to say the least! Well done, Ohio!

I like this I saw it on a news channel:
"Lawmakers say if the industry can't deal with the limits, too bad. House Speaker Jon Husted says payday loans have contributed to debt problems that have sent shockwaves through the economy."

This is really good news. I know I called the Dept of Commerce myself about these places so I am sure lawmakers knew the problems these places were causing.

spud. . sorry to hear about your dilemma but I have no sympathy for the PDL industry. If they played fair, they wouldn't be in this posiiton and they could be providing a much needed service without "raping" the good, hard working people of this country.
