I had a loan with Eastside Lenders (ESL) and my loan was sold to Smith Haynes and Watson, LPA. They both were horrible. My $300 ended up being $705. I filed a complaint with the Delaware BBB and ESL agreed to settle for $350. (principal and two NSF).

Where can I find a copy of the C&D?? I would like to forward to my AG when I file complaint next week showing them what creeps they are. I think I need to make it my mission to inform the elected officials of NJ how these people are raping consumers.

I found it on Department of Corp. for California.
They have a link you click on and you can look up PDL companies to see if they have complaints, etc.

all the states do have the list of authorised PDL companies on their official websites.before applying to their service,if you could check their previous history it will save a lot more hassle for you in coming future.

The Pennsylvania Department of Banking issued a cease and desist order on August 23, 2010. In the order, East Side Lenders are required to provide a list of all PA residents who have obtained a loan since 2009, they must refrian from collections, and must repay any amount in excess of the legally allowed interest rate (6% per annum).
