I think Bill Oreilly is a jerk. He had Rev. Al Sharpton on his show tonight. They were talking about the Imus scandal. He always argues with his guests. He just gets people all rylled (sp?)up. Why, can anyone explain that to me. Why would they put someone like that on tv is beyond my imagination.

Opinion follows...
Much of the cable news programming has become what WWE/WWF is to sports. Many people would rather feel validated by having someone espouse political views that mirror their own, and stifle real debate. Demagoguery rules the airwaves. I quit watching Fox News not because I disagree with any given political view, but because the actual content in many cases lacks journalistic merit. Whatever happened to journalism as a whole being unbiased?

An example would be when an little known, emmy nominated/winning film was discussed. The Beltway boys (I think it was that program) used the film to argue just another way that Hollywood is out of touch with mainstream America. Never mind the fact that awards are supposed to be earned on merit, and are not meant to be a popularity contest/battle of the box office receipts.
