How come Pluto is not a planet? All of us know that Pluto is the youngest member of solar family? All on a sudden scientists and researchers started debating if Pluto has the characteristics that a planet should have. On Thursday, the General assembly of the International Astronomical Union is going to decide Pluto’s fate, whether it will remain a planet or not.
Pluto’s bad luck continues as scientists offer Charon, Pluto’s satellite, a rank of planet in the solar family. Some of the scientists are of opinion that after few more years, Moon will be considered as a planet when its orbit will expand more. Whatever be the status of Moon, its beauty would never fade, that’s a guarantee

Well, I vote for it to remain the same...I don't think most people (except for astronomists) really are going to know the difference, so why change?

What an interesting topic for scientists to quibble over!

I second that, why worry about Pluto when the planet WE ARE ON really needs thier scientific attention!

Poor Pluto got kicked out of being a planet. I agree with you Ari, they need to pay more attention to Earth!

Not only that, what the hell are we going to be doing on Pluto to be concerned about whether or not it's a planet! Come on! Scientists are wasting time, energy and money on fluff studies like this.

Wow speak of the devil 24 minutes ago this was released:
| Quote: | PRAGUE, Czech Republic - For decades, it’s been confused with a cartoon dog and ridiculed as a puny poser. Now Pluto, the solar system’s consummate cling-on, has suffered its worst humiliation: It’s not even a planet anymore.
After a tumultuous week of clashing over the essence of the cosmos, leading astronomers Thursday stripped Pluto of the planetary status it has held since its discovery in 1930. The new definition of what is — and isn’t — a planet fills a centuries-old black hole for scientists who have labored since Copernicus without one.
The historic vote by the International Astronomical Union officially shrinks Earth’s neighborhood from the traditional nine planets to eight — forcing future revisions of science textbooks and classroom charts. But the scientists made clear they’re as sentimental as anyone else about the ninth rock from the sun.

They need to start paying more attention to earth and not worry about the planets that are so far away.

I second that Tammy. Earth is in great danger with all the pollution, global warming, and threat of nuclear war. These silly sods researching Pluto need to refocus on this planet before it too loses it's status as a planet and is renamed a black hole!

Now what are they going to do with the text books that explain the 9 planets - how are we ever going to explain this to our kids!!! How humiliating for Pluto, now Pluto's just a dog in Disney!!
Oh sorry, lost it there for a sec!! LOL, how ridiculous is it that they are wasting valuable time and energy discussing this!!

If they don't start focusing on Earth, what will our kids future be like?

If they keep slacking on Earth, I'm afraid your kids will have to wear lead suits everyday to work in order to fend off the radiation.
