Ari started the adorable cat thread some time ago. I have two cute kitties, but I'm a dog person myself. So..Tell me about your dogs! This is my precious American Bulldog, Howie. Howie is 3 years old, and weighs 90lbs. Howie is a girl..She's named for Oakland Raiders great Howie Long. All of my animals are named for football players. She loves to play tug, she snores, she hogs the bed, she has terrible gas, and she has no idea she's not a person.

I'm kind of new here but couldn't resist. I love talking about my dog. Her name was Bruiser (yes, it's a she - my brother wanted to name her). The name, though couldn't be further from the truth. She was a medium-sized shephard/collie mix with a shephard's frame. She was afraid of little poodles! We had a neighbor whose poodle was forever chasing Bruiser. I'd be so embarrassed when Bruiser would run away from her! She was really great with kids - not so great with guys with beards. We had a neighbor who, every morning on his way to his garage, would knock on my kitchen window, Bruiser would look out the window and Jeff (my neighbor) would hide and then play peek-a-boo with her. Ever since then, she didn't trust men with beards (he had a beard). once when some friends of mine came over, they brought their 2-year-old daughter. She was playing with the knob on my stereo. Her father got up to move her away from it. Bruiser growled at him, and he had to sit back down. He didn't get back up until they left! He's not the only one, though. I've had sleepovers, and the moms and dads would come to pick the kids up. She would growl at them. I guess she didn't want the kids to leave!

I sent the pic on my phone to my email...Then I saved it in a file. Then I dragged it to my desktop and browsed it up from there.

dbaker, your Bruiser sounds adorable..But you talk about her in the past tense. Is she gone now? If so I'm sorry..It's tough losing a dog you love.

Yes, that was several years ago when my kids were small. She was a lot of fun - for them and for me, and we have a lot of great memories of her, so no need to be sad for me. She lived 16 years, which is pretty old for a dog, I think.

Howie looks so cute - I'll bet he's a lot of fun!
