Just a question..

Every so often a poster comes along who loves to insult all of us here. It creates all kinds of drama, and then that person ends up posting all over the board and destroying helpful threads. I know that if I was a new person, I would be completely turned off by these insults. It's an ongoing problem here, and it really ends up killing morale. This place is about helping each other out, but we end up defending ourselves to these people.

My question is this..Can these negative posts be deleted? I'm really tired of seeing them. In the past I've defended myself and others to them, but I made a committment today not to acknowledge them anymore. I can't even express how sick and tired I am of having to wade through BS from these people to read something pertinent. Imagine how new people feel? How are they supposed to find the answer to their question if they have to sift through two pages of insults?

Anyway, I guess I'm just ranting. I will no longer answer a thread that has this kind of junk in it, and I truly think it would simply be best to get rid of these posts when they occur.

I agree with you Fins. I posted in another thread about how I would not respond to these type of posts. I come here to give back what was given to me-help and hope. I agree it totally takes away from what we are doing here,plus takes up alot of the forum space. I am too old,not getting any younger,to waste my time with them. They are kinda like when my kids were young and whiny(sometimes still are),and I would ignore them and they would go away,but the mor attention I paid to them,they just got louder!!..Karen

You're absolutely right Karen. I'm always telling my little boy to "be the better guy". This place was a Godsend to me, to you, and to a lot of other people. I'm going to do my best to make sure it stays that way.

Me too! My grandmother used to tell me that people who put others down,cursed,or were mean to others,were just showing their ignorance.I still am working on the cussing,but,I don't do the other stuff Laughing

lol..Yeah, I have a tendancy to have a bit of a potty mouth at times, too..But I'm pretty good about appropriate timing on that!! I've never been a mean person, either. Plus, I'm extremely sensitive and tend to take things to heart when I shouldn't. For the life of me, I don't see the fun in making another person feel bad. I really don't.

Hey guys, I just deleted that mierable "Dumb People" thread over in the collection agencies forum. I moderate that one and that guy was just dragging everyone down with sniveling misery and insolence. You will not have to see that mess again!

When there is a pain, don't let it stay inside you. Let it burst out. People here care for you. They will offer you good support and make you feel stronger.

I am sorry about the negative posts kept in this forum. This is lately happening in almost every other online forum. The purpose of a board is to offer individual views and opinions about a current situation. If any of the negative post is deleted, visitors coming in the future will not understand the history of this board and how a strong community that you people made came into evolution. You stand for all and everyone will be there besides you. That's the strength of the community.

Let's say, if a negative post is deleted, the poster will be successful in his motives and he will try to do it again on someone else. Maybe, he will repeatedly post with aggression. If he is blocked from posting here, he will get another IP address and mark his entry. What's the use to play a hide and seek game with just a handful of people? I know, responding to an individual post is your personal choice and I will respect whatever decision is taken. Deleting the posts somehow means keeping only one side of the action. Remember, I also had to go through a lot of acquisitions in the past and it’s still available on the board.

I hope you will understand the situation fairly.

I see your point Denny, And you are right. I have calmed down quite a bit in the last little bit.

I understand that everyone has their rights. But I think it's horrendous when a person is personally attacked just for being in debt. That "dumb people" thread was so unbelievable. The insults were the worst I have ever seen. I really really care about this community and the people here, and I hate to see people who have come so far get knocked down. Maybe a poster has the right to knock someone for being in debt, but they have no right to personally attack someone. That stuff hurts.

But..I will not answer the negative posts, and do my share of keeping things positive and helpful. If we keep that up, the mean people will get bored and go away. Thank you for listening, I appreciate eveything you do for us.
