The day before the big UofM OSU game, he passed during the taping of an interview. This is a sad day for college football.
He was seven-time Big Ten coach of the year and had a 194-48-5 record at Michigan from 1969-89. His record in 26 years of coaching was 234-64-8. For you Ohio folks, he was mentored by the legend Woody Hayes, of OSU.

Quite a shock. Like the game didn't have enough meaning for big Blue already.

No doubt, as a Michigan fan, I do hope that this brings added motivation for them, but I am sorry to hear of this, and how it happened, taping a TV show. That man loved football though, this is one weekend I wish I still lived in Ann Arbor, that place will be seriously jumping!

So are we going to place a bet Chagrin on who will win tomorrow. As a Buckeye, I have to go with OSU. That is sad about Bo Schembeckler. They have Ann Arbor police down here to help out with the crowds. I don't even want to go within 10 miles of that campus, win or lose it will be a MESS.

Poor Bo will miss a big game, and he loved them so. Rest in peace, Bo.

What a game! My son and I were on the edge of our seats for the entire 2nd half. Got pretty ugly in the last seconds of the 4th. Congrats OSU on a game well played - I may be a Michigan fan, but I can at least grant them that!

It was a good one. I'm a OSU fan, I just kept getting upset because they would have such a good lead and let them get so close each time. It is always a good one. I would not go near campus, I'm sure it is like a riot down there right now. Always a good game.

So true, Steelers - can't believe how close it got right at the end there. I thought for sure we were dead in the water when it got down to the last minutes of the 4th - we scored again, but just didn't have the time to get any further ahead.
You're right - it's going to be a mess down there - it was pretty interesting to see the security force they had down there. I understand Michigan sent Ann Arbor forces down too, to assist. It was like a huge red sea on the field afterwards, and the security was like a seawall...the red sea just flowed around them. LOL

Yes, they have sent their police officers, but the spokesperson for the media stated that, (and I think they shouldn't have I think people should've thought they had powers) they stated that the Ann Arbor police had no more authority than the average citizen here, I thought they should've kept that to themselves,(what they don't know will keep them in line) but so far there are no problems, they would've been having breaking news stories even if they arrested one student for underage drinking.

Well, I spoke too soon, they are turning over cars and the usual dangerous fires. GOD! I don't want to even think what would've happened if we lost. This is just stupid crazy!

It's insane..Riots are nuts. Michigan State has had some incredible ones, but the most tremendous riot in college football history..and this is fact..is when Arizona state earned the Rose Bowl back in '96. That was before the BCS crap, and the Rose Bowl still mattered. Anyway, students took the goal post from Sun Devil stadium and went searching for players vehicles..They smashed in the windows of the coaches and players cars..Their own team!! They ran naked down the streets, and a bunch of homes and businesses got broken into. A few people died in that one. Every so often you'll still see a bit of it on tv. What idiots.

They can be idiots, win or lose. You should see the campus, I drove down there this morning. And talk about a city DUMP. It looks AWFUL down there, I have never seen so much trash on the streets, the are estimating that there is more than 40 tons of trash to clean up. I personally think it is probably more like 150 tons of trash. Words can not describe how trashy it looks down there this morning. They have news crews following the sanitation dept around, and they are saying that MI fans were taking pictures of the trash aftermath. I guess that is much better than riots.

How stupid. To me, it's poor sportsmanship. At Michigan State, someone usually gets stabbed during a riot after a basketball game. You would think people would want to take pride in their cities and stadiums. I'll never understand people. The game's done, go home. Trash your house if you need to.

It is very stupid. They have "refurbished" campus and it looks so great, and this morning it isn't so great. Most of the people who trashed campus are probably from out of town and don't care, and by out of town, that includes OSU fans also, majority of the people down there were OSU fans, too bad they didn't issue littering citations, the city could've "cleaned" up in fines!
