Time Warner always runs a special with first time customers, a bundle with your phone, cable, DSL for less thatn $100/mo for all three. It is supposed to expire after one year, but if you tell them at the end of the one year that another company has offerred you a better deal they will work out another package deal.

Ashley, I am sending you one link in PM. Do a thorough comparison before deciding the ISP. The survey was done in between June 7 to June 30, 2006. Hope it helps.

Let Comcast know that you are leaving because the orice is too high and that you would stay if they would keep you at the current rate. There is a good chance they would cut you the deal instead of losing you all together.

Ashley - I was with my cable company for a long time, paying $50+ a month for my dsl through them. Then I found out my phone company was offering dsl through the phone line (still leaves my phone free for calls) for $15 a month. You might want to check it out.

Sue, I don't have a landline, just cell service through Verizon who stated I had to get a land line through them to get DSL

Hi again Ashley - Verizon can do DSL using a phone line and a service called "dry loop". You may want to investigate that idea, but it may not be available in your area. It's also more expensive than using a regular phone line. The $15 service is using a landline with phone service.

Ahsley, you don't have to purchase the landline service to receive dsl service. Let us know what Comcast does, if they make a deal with you in order to keep you as a customer. Most companies these days will do this because of the competition. Good Luck!

Just tell them you're going to cancel, they will work something out. I had a prob. with Dish Network a few months back, with them wanting me to pay $99 to upgrade my dish since I wasn't getting all of the channels in my package. We've had Dish Network since back when you had to BUY your equipment. No way was I going to pay to upgrade. I said "Cancel me" and they transferred me to the "Please don't cancel" department, and gave me a free upgrade to stay on.

Let us know what Comcast does. Smile

Exactly my point on all of them. Competition is too high. When I worked for Sprint (the b@stards), whenever a customer called in to cancel, we transferred them to the retention dept. Basically, they would give just about anything to get you to sign another 2 year contract. Free phones, ridiculous minutes for barely any $$ - you name it. Trust me - Comcast is making money on you at your current price. Could they make more - oh hell yeah. But they don't want to lose you, so they would cut their profits to keep you as a customer.
