This may seem wierd but I am so not a country music fan, but I friggin love Nashville Star. I have never once watched American Idol. Last season Wynona hosted with Cowboy Troy, but this year Jewel is hosting. Jewel is a pop/rock singer. I have never heard her do any country music, but then again I never tune into country music radio stations.

Ok I admit it. I am on my second glass of Chardonnay. Waiting to throw some clothes in the dryer.

Anywhoz... what is the deal with Jewel on Nashville Star?

And does anyone get this Hick Hop thing that Cowboy Troy does? He seems kind of dorky to me. I have never heard any of his music though.

I don't watch the show, so I don't know that answer. As for Jewel, my guess would be that it's because 1) her music can cross over from pop/rock to country very easily; and 2) because she probably needs a boost in recognition. A lot of people know her name and her music but can't recognize her face.

I'm not a Country thing either, but I like Nashville star,too! I don't know why Jewel is doing it,they must have been desperate. I liked Wynona better. I though Jewel forgot to put her pants on and just came out in her top Laughing

I dig Jewel. She just doesn't seem like a country singer.

I was pissed that they axed the guy with the long hair. That is one of the best country tunes of all times that he performed and he did it well. Plus he was smokin sexy with his long hair!

It may be because she is a big part of that yodeling (spelling?) thing which is common in bluegrass which is similar to country? Plus, she is a great looking face to put on TV. Does that make sense?

Yes, I think Jewel has a lovely svelte figure.

This is because she observes the food chart to a T.
