They said her lungs are getting stronger. They finally found the infection which is pancreatitis. Which was caused by her spleen bleeding into her stomach. They are hoping the antibiotics will clear up the infection.
She is proof that prayers work! |

So glad to hear that this young lady is improving! May God continue to bless her and make her stronger! Our prayers will continue! Since I have read this, it made me think about one of my God-daughters that died in a drunk driving crash. She was 16 and unfortunatley, she and her friend were the ones drunk due to someone buying alcohol for them. Thanks so much for the update and again, so very glad she is improving!

Thought I would give everyone an update. Cassie is off the ventilator and they have put an oxygen bubble over her trach. She is eating jello and drinking sprite. Which her stomach is not tolerating, but the doctor said that her stomach will have to learn how to work again. They are giving her nutrients through a feeding tube. She has started her physical therapy and out of the ICU unit. They say she has about three months left in the hospital, but if she keeps improving she may get out sooner.

Znband, I'm so sorry to hear about your God-daughter. It's so tragic whenever a young life is taken.
Tammy, that's great news about Cassie. It sounds like she's going to do fine. Will continue to pray for her. How is her family holding up with all of this? |

Thanks dbaker ~ it was a hard pill to swallow and she is sorely missed. She wanted to be a model and she had the looks and personality to be able to do it. Such a promising young lady, but maybe it was a wake up call for her family. Her mother had been going through a bad spell and had kind of lost touch with her kids and I think this made her realize that you can't take things for granted. She has done a complete turn around to the woman I use to know, so some good came out of it.
Tammy ~ wonderful news! So glad Cassie is doing so much better. She will continue to be in our prayers. |

Znband, It's unfortunate that sometimes this is what it takes to wake people up. I am glad some good came of it, though. A friend of mine went through a tragedy that woke him up, as well. His 16-year-old son OD'd. He realized too late that he wasn't spending enough time with his kids and that this kid just didn't feel loved. He quit working so much and now spends time with his 2 remaining kids, and they've become very close.
Tammy, I can imagine how thrilled her family is. It's quite a miracle how she's turned around. I am so glad she's making such great progress. |

thanks for the update, Tammy! She's showing the power of prayer.
About 2 years ago, my daughter lost one of her best friends to an auto accident. No alcohol involved. Only the inexperience of a young driver (not my daughter - another friend) who was trying to eat/drink and drive at the same time, and missed a stop sign when she reached for her drink. Both girls were 17, but now one of them will live the rest of her life with the knowledge that her inattention to the road caused the accident that took her friend's life. What a horrible experience. __________________
