"Quick Message"

Message Author
PostPosted: Fri Mar 09, 2007 5:25 pm Subject: "Quick Message"

I see the option to send "Quick Messages" to anyone in the forums. Just click on the member ID you want to message and it will be sent to him/her. And these messages are getting stored in the home page of that user. Interesting!! Smile

I did some research and thought that a pop up screen or an email to notify us when a new message arrives in the homepage will be good enough. (or if that green arrow turns to red when a new QM comes). Did ya'll check this?

I would miss these messages all together, I just happen to run across my homepage for some reason the other day and seen I had messages. This isn't a good place for them to go for me. I actually forget the page is there and will never know what messages are there or for how long.

Plus, you can't delete them! The person that sent them is currently the only one that can delete it.

Patrik is working on it, please let us know all the modification required.

Adding following tasks for Patrik

  • Delete option should work for quick messages.
  • An email notification for every quick message.
  • Also we can work a little harder to make the quick message happen through email itself. (Do you want that? Reply to the mail sent and it will be posted to the quick message section.)

Any other suggestion for homepages?

Hi,

I have activated the Delete option; users can delete comments from their home page now. Also an email will be sent to them once a quick message is posted.

I will be working on the Task #3, i.e. replying to quick message through emails. Let me know if any other changes are required.

Thanks
Patrik

Tweety, check your emails regularly. You will be notified when someone drops a quick message to you. It will show up in your home page. You have two messages there.
