I agree, and my prayers went out immediately for them all. I don't know how our society has become one where human life and taking that life has become an acceptable thing. How have humans become so cruel and evil that there is no regard for life? It saddens me--Karen

Kyside, I thought of you immediately when I heard about this. What an awful, senseless tragedy. It just continues to amaze me how creatures that call themselves human can go out and do this, to innocent people! These people as well as your family have my prayers.

Folks, This has been a day. One that I will never forget. It has been on the media all day and probably will be for several days. My sons friend that I have known since his birth goes to college there. Waited most of the day and finally got the word that he is ok. I have prayed so hard all day. Now my prayers are with these students and the victims families. I guess it just goes to show us that nothing in this world is safe anymore. KYSIDE38

Does anyone know why the gunman snapped like that? My youngest will be going to college next year and I am terrified!
Also, the students were saying that they weren't told to stay in their dorm roomds?? Did anyone hear that?

I heard that the University Office started sending emails to alert students, also students tried to spread the word by mouth...they all will be in my prayers.

kyside...thank you for posting this. I am still in shock. As a former longtime resident of Virginia, I felt a deep sense of sadness at this absolutely senseless act of violence. So many young lives...

i think is necessary metal detectors in the entrance
and exit of all schools.i think we need to protect
all children , youngsters and adults more.it is not excuses for dont put the metal detectors because they are very expensive.i saw in the television that they want to increase security guards in the schools.i think is very good but without the metal
detectors is not safe.
i'm angry with government either. USA IS THE FIRST
COUNTRY IN THE WORLD AND they have money to protect
more our students and in particular places have money to protect the students.
i'm angry because nobody really care about mental people in this country and is very easy for school
ask students for a evaluation with a doctor before the STUDENTs came to school.
my husband is a very good mental ill person.he hate
to see all this children dead.my husband tell me
all the time that he dont want to be with dangerous
mental ill people.i think this people need to be
distant of good mental ill person.every time my husband went to the hospital he had a worst bad person in the bedroom with him.
i'm angry because is not the first time happened a tragedy like this.we need metal detectors and more people from security to work in all schools.
i cannot stop to think about these children and all people that lost their children.i cannot stop to think in all people that lost their lives and i'm praying for GOD TO HELP THEIR FAMILIES and i'm praying for GOD HELP THE AUTHORITIES to see the truth and make saFe schools with metal detectors and more security employees.
