Anyone who knows me knows how much I hate my job. I'm always hoping an opportunity will come along, but I never really go looking.
Anyway, I'm coaching Rocket football(we're undefeated, by the way!) and I had to take a press release to a local paper. I went in to see the sports' editor. I've written some freelance HS football stuff in the past, and I wanted to know if he needed anything. He got very excited when he saw me, and said he'd been trying to figure out how to reach me since season started. He wants me to cover...exclusively...Varsity football for 3 area high schools. He also wants me to be one of 3 contributers covering a local college (who is very successful in the AA division). OMIGOSH!! This is a BIG DEAL!! The pay is decent, and it can open a lot of doors for me...The college football team I'll be covering has won the AA division title 3 years in a row (a HUGE deal..kinda like the Rose Bowl before the BCS took over everything) and they're probably going to do it this year, too. I probably don't have the time for this, and I'm going to be driving all over Michigan on Tuesday and Friday nights, but oh well!!
Keep your fingers crossed, and wish me luck..Hope that I can turn this into something more!
