Hi guys!!!

Thursday is Thanksgiving..Can you believe it? Where has the time gone?

It's going to be an incredibly busy week for me, so I have to get all emotional right now...

I have to count all the things I'm thankful for..I'm thankful for my health, and the fun I have. I'm thankful for my husband and son, and the rest of my family. I'm very thankful for this site...Last year at this time I was in a terrible spot, I can't believe I'm the same person. This place and the people here helped pull me out of it, and I'm soooo thankful.

I've made some really close personal friends here, people I talk to off the board, and I truly love them. Also, I'm making new friends here all the time..I'm really really thankful for everyone here and what we all do for each other.

Have a happy Thanksgiving, I love the Holidays more than anything, this is going to be such a fun time!!

We are actually have Thanksgiving with my husband's family this afternoon. I made corn casserole. It's very easy and they love it Smile I also tried a new dessert; Pumpkin and Gingerbread Trifle. It's yummy. As the cook, I get to taste test. Have a good Thanksgiving everyone !

My 82 year old Mom lives with me and she is cooking Thanksgiving as she has since I was a little girl(a very long time ago) She still makes everything from scratch including pies, stuffing, and all that goes with it. She may be a little slower now but the food is as good as it has always been and as I watch Her with all her Children, Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren I remember growing up with this beautiful woman always being there for us all and it makes me miss My Dad even more because his family was the most important thing in his life.

So Have a wonderful hoiday everyone and if you are able to be with people you love embrace the time you can spend with them and if you're far away from loved ones call and tell them you love them.

I make a pretty mean cheesecake, and my candied yams are pretty good too, if I do say so myself!

I'll bring the cheesecake, candied yams, and a great bottle of wine for those who want it! Smile

Oh - and I make pumpkin pie straight from the pumpkin - I cook it myself and make the pie filling from scratch, as well as the crust - so I'll bring that too!

Since I don't cook,
I'll bring all of the silverware, paper towels, pots, pans, including the big tray for the huge bird we're going to have. Oh yeah, I'll get the stuff for basting too!

Well, I have what is actually an Easter bread that I make, but my daughter, all but one son, and my sisters love it, so I'll bring that to my daughter's (she's having Thanksgiving this year). It's called Houska. It's a yeast bread with almonds and golden raisins. And, of course, to go with it, I'll be bringing the coffee, too.

Sam62, I agree with you - enjoy your family and call the ones who can't be with you. Mine is dwindling every year, and I am very thankful for the two sisters I have left as well as my children, grandchildren and wonderful friends. I am also thankful for this site and all the wonderful people I've met here. Happy Thanksgiving!

I have an absolutely delectable family recipe for cranberry that I will be making to bring to dinner, I got an invite to join one of my coworkers and her family. This cranberry is made on the stove with fresh cranberries, apples, oranges, walnuts, raisins, honey, nutmeg, and cinnamon and it has been my favorite side dish ever since I first tasted it.
