Hey guys, I was hoping i could get some facts about these two cause I keep hearing different things? Is a debt consolidation program (not a consolidation loan) better for my credit than a debt settlement program? A lot of people have said that debt settlement program is better cause its lower payments, and typically on 40% of what you owe anyways, and they arrange to have it show up as paid in full on your credit report, then others say that is not true, that it will say settled on your credit report, what is true? I am so confused, someone please shed some light on this for me!!

Hello all,
When yo usettle and the company puts settled as agreed on the report how long does it stay there and how long is it a negative mark on the credit report?
I have a card that is going to be settled but they want settled as agreed and they won't budge for anything else. I am settling at 25% of what I owed.
    Just curious.
thanks for any help,

I have a question about credit reports....I checked my credit reports from all three of the major ones. The weird thing I found was on equifax. It had everything posted for each company 4 times. It said on the summary I owed all this crazy money becuase it had everything listed 4 times. I had my mom check hers and her stuff was listed 4 times each for each creditor. Trans and experien did not list things 4 times. Just once for each creditor as it should be unless you have more then one account. Has anyone else had this problem??
