Well it's really not good to hear that so many people are getting these calls. Just today, some man/woman called me at my place of employment and I asked them not to call my place of employment and not only did he call me right back, he called again and again. then he called a Supervisor in a different department. I did call the Attorney General' office and was told to write them asking them to cease calling my place of employment.

Being as this is an offshore [UK-based] company, the US Attorney General, FTC, etc., are pretty much powerless. I'm wonderingt if anybody's tried following up with the UK Embassy or Consulate? Seems like those folks would have a vested interest in stopping the abuse, as it makes the UK look bad internationally.

Just thinkin' out loud........

I owe over 6000. Have contacted the local
police, my manager, etc. I feel so intimadated and fear losing my job over this company. What can I do?

Hi pam,

I empathize with you. Its really annoying to get harassing calls from some offshore pdl company. Just avoid them ans also ask your colleagues not to respond to their number.

you've paid them darn beyond the limit and shouldn't shed one more penny for them. As they're offshore business, they're quite beyond the purview of the enforcing authority. I know its unfortunate and frustrating. Just try to remain calm and Do Not respond to their calls.

I took out a loan from GFS for $300. They would take out $75 each pay day. Then the account was so overdrawn I changed my direct deposit to a different account which they didn't have access to. They called and threatened the wage garnishment. I told them the account was closed and I didn't have another account but would mail them a cashier's check or money order. They said that account isn't closed. I said it's so overdrawn that I closed the account. They finally gave me the information for a money gram which I sent and paid in full. Just today they called me from the 44 UK London number and told me I was approved for a higher amount loan. Don't take out a loan with these people. They are bad news and after reading all the posts out here, I wish there was a way we could shut them down.

call.they will end up sticking there foot in there mouth.there is
no way they can garnish without a court order.also they are a
illegal overseas pdl.if you paid the principal ignore them you are
done.if thet call further hang up,don't even acknowledge them.

I paid off my loan plus more over 2 years ago. I figured out they were still taking money out of my account and swiftly closed the account after speaking to my bank. They didn't want to hear anything I had to say, they didn't want to see my bank statements showing how much I had paid, etc.

I sent them a letter demanding proof of the debt and they just 'went away'. That was 2 years ago. Now my phone is ringing off the hook the last 2 weeks with phone solicitations and guess who calls......Route 66. They are now demanding $1400 for a $300 loan, said we made the deal 'verbally' and that he had my info and would get his money.

So I have to wonder if now they are selling our information?

I have once more sent a letter to them demanding payment but really wish there were more we the consumers could do to shut them down once and for all.
