Default Debt info

This article was on CNN today:

There is a limit to how long collectors can legally collect your debt. Generally this limit - called the statue of limitations - can range from three to 15 years according Ridout. Check with your state's attorney general's office to find out the limit in your state.
Sometimes debt collectors will try to collect on this old debt called zombie debt because it never goes away. Make sure you don't accept a new credit offer from a creditor you never repaid. Once that creditor renews your credit relationship, the clock starts ticking all over again on your state's statute of limitations.

If you think you've been treated unfairly by a debt collector, take action. File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at 877-FTC-HELP.Or contact state attorney general's office.

You also have the right to sue a debt collector in state or federal court within a year of the date the law is violated. A victory will allow you to recover money for the damages you suffered plus an additional amount up to $1,000. A group may also sue a collector and for damages up to $500,000, or one percent of the collector's net worth, whichever is less.

Ok, does anyone know where this company is actually based out of? They continually state that they are out of London, but I'm not believing that. On top of that, they continually call my place of business asking for my supervisor. I told them that they were never gonna speak with my supervisor for any reason as she was not gonna pay the loan off. Also, the same thing, 200.00 loan and for the last 4 weeks taking out 75.00 from my acct. Now, as far as I can add, that's not only more than the loan amount, but should seriously suffice for any charges incurred for processing the loan. Also, the person that continually calls, says that his name is John Marcus, not in this lifetime. The other thing is that I had a friend answer this morning, and he asked me if I was her and I didn't say anything, and he said "ok, so you are (my friend's name)" I just said, "ok". As he went on and told me over and over that this conversation was being recorded and that he would just send it to his legal department, I told him to go ahead. He was shocked, and I told him that I may or may not be her, and that he never took the time to verify any of my personal information, and that he had violated nearly every one of my privacy rights. Furthermore, I was formerly asking him time and again not to call my place of business and that if it continued, I would press harassment charges. He said "go ahead....". So I kept him on the phone arguing about the fact that it was an unsecured loan, and there was nothing he could do about it, etc. Then told him that if he was calling from London, his company was going to be extremely mad with him for spending so much time on a call that will get them a harassment suit. Not to mention the fact that the call he was making probably just cost him more than the loan itself. He told me that I was impersonating someone else, blah, blah, blah, and I told him that he didn't know me from Adam, and that he still hadn't verified any of my personal info. I finally got off the phone, and he called my cell. I need to know if they are based out of the U.S. anywhere. I need to send them a certified letter from my attorney. Please let me know if you have any info. Thanks

Default Cancel my Loan Request

Look.....I was told by GFSIL that I would get my loan request within 24 to 72 hours. I have not received a penny from them yet. I would like to cancel my loan request. I have not receieved any money from them, therefore I dont owe anything. I am going to close my savings account and not deal with any more cash advances.

good for you peanuts, just go to your bank and make sure if this pdl does deposit it they return it asap.also watch your account to see if they try to debit anyway.they are notorious for that.

You can't understand them first of all because they speak so fast. Then when I try to contact them, I can't get through. I have not received any money from them and I dont want to. I would rather close my account and never deal with them again. I learned my lesson already. They couldnt even give me a website so I can reach them. Does anyone know their website?
