i did default on the loan after i paid them $540 on a $200 loan. these guys wont give me any info when they call(although the guy who calls me is from somewhere in the middle east and i can't understand him)all he says is "is this your ss #? is this where you live? do you think you won't go to jail? do think that you are above the law? you're going to jail for a very long time."
when i tell him he cant call me at work and that he is breaking the law he laughs at me and says he can do whatever he wants because i owe them $$. he calls me 20-30 times a day yesterday he called my work 7 times. i finally went to my supervisor and told him the situation and he had the calls transfered to his office and they hung up on him when he told them not to call me at work and then they called right back. it amazes me how crazy this is. i tell them i want to pay them back and that they need to send me info in the mail for the loan and they refuse. he says they only accept $$ through a bank account. of course they wont since they just keep sucking me dry. i had to goto my back and tell them what was going on. my account was over $400 od and i was so scared. luckily the bank was very understanding and closed my account even though it was in the negative. i am not going to open up another account. im just paying everything in cash but im behind on all my bills because of these slimballs. i have been doing some investigating and found out that they are breaking so many laws which relieves me a little. i keep thinking that maybe since they are breaking the law they wont try to inforce anything. everything was done over the phone also no paperwork or even electronic loan papers. just a phone call to confirm the loan. can they prosecute me on that alone? i do need some legal advice if anyone knows all the laws. you guys have been helpful already. thank you so much. it helps to know i am not alone!!!!

As of today - I have heard from the FTC on the complaint that I lodged. I am still waiting to here from the ag's office. But that may take some time. GFSIL has called me twice at work today, but the don't get me rattled. I did reply to an e-mail that I would no longer honor their requests to debit my account as I have paid them 5 times what the loan was for and this is illegal in Ohio. And I don't think that they want my first born!

Here's the latest - GFSIL wants to settle my account for 100.00. They told me that they do not want to have to deal with my attorney - attorneys do not need to be involved! I am supposed to be receiving an email from them, but I am not sure what I will do yet. I think that I will wait to see what the ag's office has to say to me.

I have no intention of taking it. I e-mailed them - some guy (?) by the name of Chris Wilson and told them that they owe me money and that I would wait for them to respond. That is when theymad the offer.

Update - I had a message from the ag's office and I am waiting to hear back from them..We are playing phone tag. I also had a call today from apple -Marcus to be exact - who accuses me of not wanting to pay my debt, which is not true - as I told him - I believe that I already paid this off and am now just paying finance charges. So I e-mailed GFSIL and apple and one or two more places with the Ohio Revised Codes regarding pdls and asking them to deposit the overpayments into my account.

Irish, this is a mistake. Never give them another crack at your bank account. They will bleed you dry. KYSIDE38

I took my idiot pills today - thanks - I didn't even think about that! I also heard from moneyworld lending who informed me - after I sent them the ohio revised codes that they are legel in Utah and follow Utah's rules and that I still had to pay them 310.00 on a 300.00 loan, that I already paid 565.00 on. I resent the codes and informed them that I filed a complaint with the ag's office and asked them to refund any overage. no mention of my account.

Irish, When I first came on this site Polly gave me the advice not to even put a refund check in my account. Take it somewhere and cash it. You cant trust these people. KYSIDE38
