n/a, are you saying when you call to block your number from showing up on caller id? Sorry if I do not understand what you are saying.
And lphillips, I would say you must have been having a very lucky day if that is the resonse you got from this company when unable to pay on time. Or maybe she is new and wasn't paying attention to GFSIL training. These people are ruthless. But I'm glad to hear you had some luck with your situation. |

GFSIL Rip off
I was under the impression that i could pay it off or make payments now they have $400 on a $200 loan and trying to tell me i still owe like $600. Tried to make them see it my way but they dont care. Keep calling me at work and seems like they dont care if i get fired for them keep calling me. And i will not answer my cell phone when they call it since it is a international #. What kind of florida laws are there for a place like this?

Yes GFSIL has caller ID! They can also get around your own caller id...For example at work we have caller id and instead of it coming up as their international number somehow they make it so it comes up incoming local call....

Honestly - GFS Can't do squat if you don't answer the phone! I had (have) only 2 PDLS, and GFS calls me everyday. I just ignore them....or hang up on them when the call me. I think I'll start sending them emails, should I?

Legal call times
Hello! I currently have a loan with GFS... well technically I shouldn't have a loan with them since I have overpaid them 5 times what I borrowed and they insist that I still owe them more than what I took out. No joke... I have been paying on this loan for 9 months and I can't seem to find a way out of it. I feel like the only thing I can do is to close my bank account and open a new one but then I am afraid they will start to harass people like my boss (which I totally don't need!). The people there are rude and I have sent them emails telling them they are not authorized to take out anymore money but they still do. I don't think they ever use the same "code or number" when they draft the payment because I have asked my bank several times to stop payment and they still manage to get the money out.
I finally filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau because I am tired of them doing these things to people who just need a little help. They dont' help... they only make our situations worse. Anyway, I was wondering first, if anyone has any suggestions of what else I can do to make it all stop and secondly, if anyone knows what time they calls from businesses can legally be made to a consumer? If anyone knows anything, I would really appreciate the help. Thanks! |

File a complaint with your Attorney General...Once I did that and they sent me a letter stating that they had received my complaint-I didn't hear from them
They have numerous DBA's so if you block GFSIL they send it through another way. They will start to send in 20 different drafts on the same day(this resulted in my owing my bank over 2 grand and my bank will not assist me in any manner) By law they can call from 8am-9pm in your time zone. And they will call numerous times. And yes they will start asking to speak with your boss. You need to send GFSIL a letter revoking your voluntary wage assignemtn as well as a revocation for them to continue drafting you bank account. Then you need to send a copy of that revocation to your payroll department. By law your employer cannot give them any personal information about you to them. I went and spoke to my boss personally. |

I got phone calls on top of phone calls at work from these people. I was off work for a few days and they told MY SUPERVISOR that I was approved for a $200 loan and that I should call them.
So when they called when I was there I was livid. I told them I did not appreciate them calling me at work and that it was a violation of privacy for them to tell anyone but me anything, especially over the phone, because how could they know it was me? Here's the kicker ----- they tried to verify my SSN with me to make sure I'm me, but THEY were reading it ALOUD! I cut them off after the first 3 numbers (which, yes, were mine) and told them again, how did they know I was me and to please stop calling. They said they would not stop calling until I verified my SSN. I told them no because they had no legal right to get me to give any personal information over the phone and if they continued to call me I would press harrassment charges. I listed off my work number and my cell number (I don't have a home phone) and told them if I heard from them again I would contact a lawyer. I haven't heard back... yet. Its been about a month and a half. Here's hoping. I still don't know how they got my info. |

No call
I will file a complaint with the Attorney General then. While I am filing the complaint about them stealing my money, I will also let them know that they called before legal calling times. I received a call from GFSIL at 7:43 one morning... Yep, I saved the message. Now if I could just find a document to back this up.
I just can't believe that a company is allowed to do this to people. How can you pay nine months worth of payments and still have a balance higher than what you started... it is so incredibly frustrating. I have had one or two other payday loans but they didn't do this to me... sure I overpaid them as well but it only went on for a few weeks. And I am sure that some people would say just pay the balance but I feel like if I pay the balance that I am just telling them it is okay to keep doing this too people. GRRRRRR! |

GFSIL Dealings
Hi,
I have been dealing with them myself. I have sent them a letter also stating that I have pd them over $400 on a $200 loan, and to mark my account pif. After sending the letter I received a phone call as well, stating that I have missed all of my "processing fee". Which I have not missed any fees since I have had this loan since December. However they at GFS or GFSIL has no record of my payments. Funny cause I have my bank statement of every single debit they have made from my account. Which I did fax to them and was suppose to receive a return call. Which I have yet to receive a call regarding my bank statement. However I did receive a call for an agreement for my to pay them $270 by this Monday via Wester Union. I keep asking them for their finance rate and how them came to that amount. They will not answer my questions they keep telling me they are paperless. They have yet to reply to my last email. I received a email last night also about how a ACH was returned for $18.00 I am waiting for them to telll me what that was for. I am in the process of closing down my bank account once all transaction have been posted or returned. However I have already opened an account at a different bank. now I owe the bank too. GREAT. I did have some good come out of all of this and that was with Emerald Marketing. I sent them a letter stating that I had paid them $600 + for a $300 loan and I wish to have my account marked paid in full. They replied right away and stated that my account will be marked paid in full. Didnt have to fight with them. But I am ready for a fight with the rest. Oh yeah I keep asking GFS to explain what laws they follow and they cant answer me. They also withdraw from your account under other name on behalf of GFS. |

Can you understand anything that gfs says???
I sent them an email yesterday, and they haven't called me back yet... still waiting YOu should call the bank that is associated with the GFS debits...i had my bank stop any payments for the amount that they try to take (wich is $55). they also tried doing an electronic check for that amount and my bank stopped it as well. Just be persistent with all of these companies. Don' tlet them think you're scared! |

Yes GFSIL has caused me to be OD by 2 grand but that is ok because I will pay that when I can especially since my horrible bank refused to help me with any of these problems! You need to file complaints with the AG-that is the only way we will get them shut down. They claim they abide by UK law but here is my thing: UK is mostly Britain but everyone who calls me from their is of middle eastern descent so I know they are not actually in the UK...
