I have had "okay" luck. Depends on the store manager and the company policy. Some are okay with whatever they get, one took me to court and got a judgment. Another one turned me over to a collection agency but then took it back when we complained about the collection agency. Each one is different but they seem to be better than online ones because they are licensed in your state, they follow the laws.

ok i talked to my store front lenders and they said they wont take the payments. If they refuse to take payment on a debt isnt it considered paid in full?

Do you know the reason why they are not accepting payments from you? If you have a balance and are sending the payments through check, send it through certified mail so as to prove your actions. Your efforts will prove your responsibility of clearing the debt.

how long did it take these store fronts to take you to court? I would think if you are attempting to make payment they shouldn't be able to refuse

I think that they all say that they won't take the payments, but if they cash one of the checks that is sent then from what I understand, that is considered acceptance of the payment arrangement. If they take you to court then you will have proof that you are paying and that they are accepting. In the end, the only thing a judge will probably do is ask that arrangements be made. I don't think that their refusal to accept payment arrangements constitutes that the loan is forgiven. I think that the arrangements have to be deemed as reasonable and that an effort to pay has been made...I sure wish that it would be considered forgiven...then I wouldn't be in the mess I'm in with credit cards, etc. Rolling Eyes
