I recently stopped payment on world wide cash now, ICS, and cashnet500. They do have my work phone number but not my home number. My fear is harassment at work, I work in a very small office and I don't want everybody to know my business. What can I expect next and when should I expect it? Thanks for your help and support.

I'm in the same boat as you, I blocked payment on CashNet500 on Friday also and I'm real nervous about the phone calls I might get. They have my work number as well and I am in a cubilce setting at work and everybody can hear when anybody is on the phone. I sent a letter out stating do not call me at work, only contact me by email or my cell phone. I don't think they received it yet.

Let me know how it turns out for you and I will do the same. If anybody has defaulted with any of these companies what happened and when?

Hi!
I had experience with Cashnet500. They will call you at work,or talk to co-workers and or supervisors. They will infer that you are in some kind of "LegalTrouble" and want to speak to your supervisor to discuss the matter.
I would suggest you fax and send them a cease and desist order of all phone calls, and restrict them to either Emailing or US mail.
World Wide Cash I have no experience with.

I had an account with Cashnet 500 and I stopped all ACH debits from them. To my surprise, they created a paper draft and deducted $380 for a $100 loan. The bank says that there is nothing that they can do since I gave them all of my info. I have tried to contact the branch manager (Tim McFeeters/Tim Atkins/same person) and pretty much get told to kiss off. The best advice that I can give is to call them before they do this and see if they will make some sort of arrangements.

Very true, like kbraveboy said, you will have to call them first before the lending companies use their harsh collection methods. They want to get their money back. If you don't inform them and stop their debits, they will only get furious. They will believe that you are avoiding them and don't want to pay their dues. It is better to explain your financial problems and the steps taken during these critical moments. Give your payment proposal so that they don't use their aggressive methods in the future. You will have to make the move first before they do anything severe.

Art Vandelay----Is there someone at your work that answers the phone on a regular basis that can just take a message for you from these companies? I agree that it would be very embarrassing to have to have everybody know your business. but, I agree with the posts above---maybe you should contact them first.Good Luck

Art,
In my experience, as long as you communicate with the companies, they won't harass you at work. If you're calling them, what reason do they have to call you?
It doesn't hurt to send a cease and desist letter, though. you should also set up payment arrangements right away.
The only company you're dealing with that I had any experience with is ICS. They weren't a problem at all...And never ever called me at work.
