Dealing with my unsecured debt, I've come across 4 options thus far: declaring Bankruptcy, debt settlement, debt consolidation, and debt elimination? The first three I know are viable options concerning my unsecured debts, but is Debt Elimination a viable option. It's one of those, "too good to be true, get out of jail", scams that are too hard to pass up. Thus far, I've found 3 sites that offer "legal" representation concerning ways to eliminate debt.
What's the deal with these guys? Of course, they provide no real contact address.

Isn't debt elimination where the counselor goes through your credit report and over a 6 month period removes every negative item?
I've seen these sites also, and it really does sound waaay too good to be true. Really, you can dispute the negative items on your cr yourself. And what about judgements and such? How on earth do they get those off?
Be very careful. I really don't see how that could be 100% effective, and from what I remember, it was expensive.

There is no way to legally remove negative items from your credit report except to dispute items your KNOW to be incorrect, pay on time, and wait for the 7 year reporting period to runout.
Scams which claim to "remove" negative credit are scams, and can often do more harm than good.

Yeah, I saw those ads several times and actually they did emailed me the material & called me but I haven't returned their call nor have time to read through the material. I want to understand the whole thing before I talk to them. Anybody has any experience with them? But this really sounds too good to be true.
