I found this site thru the BBB and also signed up for a phone consultation. My DH and I are so far into debt we are drowning. All was find til I had to quit my job 4 yrs ago due to my health. We are currently able to pay our house pmt and truck pmt (we only have one vehicle). We have been trying to work with the credit card companies to no avail. And now I have an attorney calling regarding hospital/medical bills - the hospital/medical/health issues are mostly what have gotten us so far behind as we only have a couple CC. Will we be able to keep our house and car with debt consolidation? Also what about our new furniture from last year (we are behind but working with them - they are one of the few nice ones working with us). We have 1 more payment for one company and they are paid and we paid off 1 company last month. But it's the ongoing medical that will be a problem as I have a disease that has no cure and will require continued medical/hospital coverage. Anyone with any thoughts? We want to pay off everything somehow but how because even caught up our debts are more than my DH makes now (due to medical like prescriptions and such). Any thoughts?

Yes, you will be able to keep your house and truck in debt settlement or consolidation.
I'm sorry you're not well. I know that ongoing medical attention is VERY pricey. Have you considered state assistance or Medicaid to help out with medical bills? With you not working, I think you'd have a pretty good chance of getting some help. Good luck, and please let us know how it goes.
