I have heard that even Sonic Payday has also refunded money to some people. Most payday loan companies will do, some won't. But if you pursue legal actions backed by your state laws, their are greater chances of getting your money back. You will have to prove that the amount paid to the company is way beyond the allowed charges in your state and the company is still trying to make more money out of you. What is your situation?

I got a refund from AIP. I took out a $200 loan with a $89 fee and paid over $450 in fees to them. Since payday loans are illegal in Georgia, I asked for a refund of all of the fees that I paid over the principal of the loan. They sent me a refun for $250. They also closed my account as paid in full.

I was able to negotiate a refund with Nationwide Cash because of two reasons. 1) They were operating illegally in my state. And 2) I paid them more than my state allowed. Go through this link on Nationwide Cash.

I haven't dealt with Sonic but I know they will also refund you the money if you have paid them excessively. See this

Tammy and finsfan, I have been waiting for a response from ameriloan, I am requesting a $575 refund from them. How long did it take, and how much did you have to go after them before you got it? Thanks

It took a little over a week to get them to respond, but when Rio stated they would issue the refund. Then two days later I got the check delivered by DHL.

They emailed me the response. I used the letter in pollyandsays blog and they ran like a mouse running from a cat.

It took about 3 weeks for me to hear from them, then another week to get the check. Actually, it may've been more like a month before I heard from them..

Kota, I'm going to try again to send you those letters..Don't worry, I'll get them to you! If it doesn't work again, I'll save them to my computer and then send them..don't worry, you'll get them!

I'm going to resend mine. They were also contacted by the AG's office. They should refund me $575, and that would be nice to get that amount refunded. I'll just keep at it until I'm successful. I heard that you have to stay on top of ameriloan, even though they are affiliated with Rio. Thanks.

Do like I done, every 2 hours I emailed and faxed the letter til they responded. I figure if they can call and harass on the phone, why not give it back to them.
